Will audiences welcome Will Smith back?

I wouldn't be surprised if his image is still hurt by the oscar slap which leads to this underperformed

reply

any reduction in total revenue earned will most likely be insignificant

reply

Slapping Chris Rock is hardly the crime of the century. I doubt general audiences care that much. If this flops I'd say it's more so due to his star fading (he was a huge A-list star back in the 00s, not so much anymore) than due to him being 'cancelled'.

I used to have to do drugs to ignore reality- do you or have you evolved to the point that you see reality as a rumor only while clean and sober?

reply

Your post makes no sense. I see nothing inaccurate in what he said and nothing comprehensible in what you said.

reply

Gotchya. So do you do drugs too then?

reply

If there is someone here who does drugs, it seems to be you.

He's right: Will Smith slapping Chris Rock is hardly the crime of the century. While it may have dome some harm to his career, it's not as if he got embroiled in some weird sex scandal like Kevin Spacey or Armie Hammer, or showed himself to be a lying and manipulative piece of shit who was willing to ruin another person's life for no good reason like Amber Heard.

Certainly public opinion of Will Smith has lowered because of all the family drama involving him and Jada Pinkett Smith, but I don't think a lot of people are saying to themselves, "THAT'S IT! I'LL NEVER WATCH A WILL SMITH MOVIE AGAIN!"

reply

You understand that Will received an Oscar the night he slapped Chris right? It literally marked the beginning of the end, motivating the public to take a harder look at the Will Smith they thought they knew, leading them to Jada etc. It was indeed the teetering point of his popularity and without it he would still be regarded the same way as before the incident. I can't understand the motivation for denying this, at least not unless it is pharmaceutically aided.

reply

I’ve absolutely lost all respect for the guy. In my opinion, paying to watch him in a movie is the equivalent of holding a bottle of Bud Light at a sports bar.

reply

Well for me I lost respect for him as soon as I learned that he let other men fuck his wife, and I learned that long before he slapped Chris Rock. I think this is true for most people. Still, fuck it, I'm going to see Bad Boys this weekend and I think a lot of other people will as well.

I actually feel bad for him. He should've never married Jada Pinkett but I'm sure she seemed like a catch at the time.

reply

I used to do drugs.

I stilll do, but I used to, too.

reply

Hedberg!

reply

Doesn't seem to matter to him. He seems to be living the life.

reply

I'm convinced Will Smith is as Queer as a $3.00 Bill that he would stay with a woman who fucked his friend.. Smith has no backbone and no man would've stood for that shit

reply

'course they will nobody gives a shit

reply

Who in their right mind would pay to see this trash? And I’m not even talking about the shitty movie.

reply

😂

reply

It's supposed to have a strong opening weekend. We'll find out.

reply

Pre-sales are good! the audience wants to see black actors on screen.

reply

The black community turning out is good for around 45 Million for the weekend.

reply

A respective black neighborhood indeed! The negros did this film a solid.

reply

I can't think of a single type of person who would normally watch this, but then "boycott" because Will Smith slapped Chris Rock.

"Hey, that Bad Boys: Ride or Die looks like it's going to be funny. But Will slapped Chris so there's no way I'm going to see it."

You see how ridiculous that sounds?

reply

Not ridiculous at all. I personally won't go to watch this movie for that exact reason.
