OK - maybe not. The first film was OK - the second one meh - but what came after made the first 2 films seem brilliant in every way.
This film? Utter crap - but I dunno if I can say if it was necessarily worse than the last film.
At the end of the day, this is transformers-like quality - skip it if you value your time. Watching the paint dry may lead to some deep thoughts - watching this film kills your brain cells.
If you thought the very first Jurassic Park was -okay- and the rest is meh, then ofc you aren't going to like this movie. You are clearly not a fan of this franchise. That does not make this movie bad, its just not your taste. Move along.

I liked the first star wars trilogy and didn't like any of the sequels/prequels - does it mean I should stop hoping that they'll one day make a decent star wars film? They have plenty of decent star wars books out - but the scripts of the newer films were all dismal at best.

Yes. Yes you should. Because they ARE decent Star Wars films. They are just not in your taste.
Same goes with Jurassic Park. The Jurassic Park films are universally loved and celebrated. I bet only 10% of the population really dislike Jurassic Park or think its just -okay-. Those movies are just not for you. Thats okay, you don't have to like EVERYTHING. I dislike Blade Runner, I really do. But I acknowledge that people might like it because the movies are very well made. Its just boring to me. If other people get enjoyment out of it, thats fine. I see the quality of the movie, its just not my taste. That does not make Blade Runner a bad film.
Same goes for all the Jurassic Parks and Worlds. Fallen Kingdom might not be the best Jurassic movie, but to call it 'utter crap' is just stupid. To even compare it to Transformers is just dumb. Seriously. Its fine if you don't like it, but its NOT by any means as bad as Transformers.

They aren't. Everyone can post. But I don't see why you would go on a thread or forum of a movie franchise that you don't even like. You won't see me on the forums of Fifty Shades or Transformers. Ive seen those movies and I thought they were either meh or just okay. Why would I spend time on there?

I will still comment on your post and respond because I speak as a huge Jurassic Park fan and I will give my opinion. What you say influences actual fans that might otherwise miss out on this great movie. So you can say it sucks, I will say it doesn't. People can then decide whom to listen to, or not.
Yeah, this is a definite sign that the franchise has gone down hill. Bland characters, unimaginative storyline, not entertaining.
