RLM Review (Warning: Not positive)

shareReally enjoyed this. They threw away their nostalgia goggles and talked about what was really on screen. I think some of the of the other usual youtube reviewers were a little too kind.
sharePhoebe rules.
shareLove those guys. They're absolutely correct about GB:A; way too much nostalgia and rehashing of the first film.
I'll always consider Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009) to be the official third installment.
"and rehashing of the first film"
Which part of the original was about a family and group of kids? Or someone discovering they are related to a Ghostbuster? What about Ivo Shandor? I forget which scene he was in.
Strike that.
As for Ivo Shandor, he's mentioned but not seen in the original as the designer of 550 Central Park West (Dana's apartment building).
they took elements from the first film and incorporated it into Afterlife.
THAT IS WHY THEY CALL IT A SEQUEL.🤔
A sequel referenced things from a previous movie in the franchise?!

What, they couldn't come up with another villain for Afterlife? Why REHASH Gozer from the original?
share"iT's A ReHaSH!"
GB2 had an original villain and was widely panned.
It's a sequel. Not unusual to reference and use previous characters.
shareThe rules of a trilogy is that in the 3rd film, there is always a connection to the first film. :-)
I saw it as expanding on the Gozer/Zule lore.
That's not a review.
Those are some guy talking shit for AN HOUR about a movie that's 2h?? LOL
i usually don't like those guys but they are right.
i also agreed with these guys

I liked it
shareI loved the original Ghostbusters growing up but what is this blind loyalty crap from fans regarding Afterlife? I haven't seen it but I thought the trailers looked shit, the reviews are shit and RLM thought it was shit. Which all together is a very strong indicator.
Just because I loved the original doesn't mean I'm gonna defend this one to the hilt. Sounds like an overload of fan service in this one to compensate for 2016. At the expense of doing anything interesting.
This is another 80s franchise that just needs to be left alone now. Along with Aliens, Predator, Halloween, Terminator, Robocop and some others I can't think of right now. They just have no idea what to do with them.
Its all nostalgia bait, I wasnt even excited for this film despite knowing itll be better than the 2016 version. But If I want Ghostbusters I can just watch the first two and its good enough. I dont want nostalgia films every year. Give us something new or leave us alone.
Its like everyone is stuck in the past and doesnt want to move forward in their lives.
