Despite Title, Criminal Minds Clearly Filmed in the USA

Did you notice that every scene with actors in appears to be filmed in the US?

That the few wide shots of Thailand are don't have the actors in them.

The market scene is way too clean looking. Not even close looking to the street markets of Bangkok.

That the outdoor scenes with the vegetation in them looks nothing like the jungles of Thailand.

During the roof top scene with the actors the skyline don't remotely look like the skyline of Bangkok. It looks more like Los Angeles.

In short, it looks like any episode of Criminal Minds. Nothing new to see here.

Having never been to Thailand I have to defer. But, not a big deal in my mind.

I've never been to Thailand either, but I've been to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia, and if they were going to pretend they were in Asia, I wish they would try and convey how hot it is over there. Like it's hotter and more humid anything! And Gary Sinese walking around in a suit! I don't think so! I just got back from Bali, and it was so hot I had sweat dripping off my eyelashes. There's just no heat like it. But I thought the market place looked too clean as well, Asia is way more chaotic than that, plus it's dirty.

What do you think their budget per episode is? Certainly not enough for them to charter a plane to carry cast, crew, and equipment to whatever country is represented in that weeks episode. This is only a TV show.

I was hoping it was going to be like "Criminal Minds" only with more emphasis on the traditions/customs/laws of the country they're going to.

Yep! And it's not cable, it's regular broadcast tv. They just have enough to pay actors.

Say it ain't so Captain Obvious! Just like many other shows or movies. The Revenant was filmed in Canada and Argentina. Suits is suppose to by in NYC but filmed in Toronto. Seven Years in Tibet was filmed in Canada. What the hell is the big deal? Stop turning little things into something.

In the second episode there was a scene where at the entrance to the out door concert was a building with "NAB" ATM on the front of it which stands for "National Australia Bank" with the correct logo and color scheme of the very bank I have an account with, and that episode is supposed to be in India. lol

People don't realize that Actors on TV shows are on TV shows for a reason: so they can go home to their families at night! Plus do any of the people complaining here have any idea of how long filming permits and applications can take? We have some friends who work in the industry and I did commercials a few years ago. One I did for Arco was filmed in La Conner WA and was supposed to represent Alaska. I've been to Alaska ( actually to over 28 countries and over 600 cities worldwide) and La Conner looks nothing like any city in Alaska. Tax breaks are given to shoot in many US cities. Louisiana gives huge breaks, which is why so many shows and movies are filmed there. Seattle does not give as much as Vancouver BC, so many shows set in Seattle (currently iZombie for example), scenes are shot for external spots in Seattle and the rest in Vancouver. But for major Movies, areas like Forks and North Bend WA is perfect for most of movie/show. We all remember that Twilight saga. And the list goes on.

But if people hate Americans that much, please go find something from your own repoitoir. I'm sure you will find something just as good as Star Wars, Star Trek, Deadpool, Revenent, Titanic and so on from your own country on your TV. Hollywood will probably not notice if you do.

If you haven't noticed - all criminal minds shows are filmed in SoCal whether it's supposed to be Texas, Kansas, Maine, or Thailand. It's hard to miss.

I noticed this for the first time when the BAU was supposed to be in Florida but there were mountains in the distance.

Yep. Looked to me like the "farm" was somewhere along CA Hwy 126 in the Heritage Valley, between Santa Clarita and Ventura - very fertile farmland, and they have used that area a lot for NCIS, Criminal Minds, the Unit, etc. over the years.

LOL! So true!

One time they even didn't care to move the stargate, it was the same place with the same vegetation in two following episodes who supposedly where two different planets. Everybody back then thought they showed a repeat 
