Why did Captain Marvel need help from the other women?

She just blasted through everything in her path anyway. She was unstoppable and Thanos had to destroy the van. So why bother with "she's got help?".

Also, what is her weakness? I remember some interview with the Russos, and they were talking about how she had some weakness. But we never got to see what it was in this film or in Captain Marvel.

Have you seen the Princess Bride?

Andre The Giant said how great he is against 20 people. Facing just one was difficult. Maybe Captain Marvel is the opposite. Maybe her blasting through ships involves reckless abandon. Something she cant risk on ground level.

Even in her movie after she unlocked her potential she actually had to battle the Kree on the ship. She blew up everything(all the ships and missiles) when no bystanders were around.

She may not know how to battle with a group. Again, with her potential unlocked.

But this is just me spitballing.

Sounds like a pointless unnecessary scene meant to give SJWs a moment to obnoxiously wink at the audience.Do Feminists understand that corny scenes like this don't help their cause. It parodies their cause by making people roll their eyes and laugh at the sheer cheesiness of it.

Pretty much nail on the head, all they needed was the Eurythmics "Sisters are doin' it for Themselves" to be playing on the soundtrack to hit the point home. The only moment I cringed throughout the whole film, could imagine Brie Larson hands been all over that scene.

Agree with you both ...thankfully it wasn't a 'critical turning point' in the story or it would've ruined the movie for me.

Apparently the Power Stone is her weakness lol.

She's kind of a knucklehead, that's a weakness.

It's why Thor liked her; like him, she's fearless but tends to rush into battle without thinking first.

I think it's possible her own films' arc will explore her learning humility and the value of planning ahead.

Where were we shown this? What were the negative consequences?

She hasn't suffered any negative consequences, yet. That'll be her own story for future movies.

But it's part of her character and completely in keeping with her background as a (movie version of a) test pilot.

In her own movie, she takes the controls of the quadjet without knowing for sure if she can actually fly it. She's hostile to Monica's neighbor on a (wrong) hunch. In Endgame, she starts leaving to kill Thanos without waiting for anyone else's input.

She's fearless, but also reckless, in other words. She's got room to grow as a character.

It's a bit weak if it takes 3 films to establish this. Assuming her next film even does this.

It was a photo op.
