why did they pick a gay ass lookin actor to play Elvis
this guy is the King of Rock n Roll. The first and greatest legend to have ever became a super star and they cast this gay looking bozo to play him!?!?! DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
sharethis guy is the King of Rock n Roll. The first and greatest legend to have ever became a super star and they cast this gay looking bozo to play him!?!?! DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
shareHe isn’t the king of anything. He never even wrote his own songs or played a single instrument.
He was a glorified karaoke singer.
The Beatles were far better than Elvis.
You’re wrong. Elvis was an immensely talented singer, performer and personality…..so ahead of his time he helped usher in the next phase of rock & roll.
He never asked to be the king of anything. In fact, he suggested guys like Fats Domino and Little Richard deserved those titles.
He was just a shy kid who loved to sing….and who got pulled into a cyclone called fame. But to undermine him is ignorant. And you mention The Beatles? I believe it was John who said: “Before Elvis there was nothing”.
that is why Elvis is so beloved. he was a humble King, who came from nothing. Like all great American heros, he started a nobody and kept his roots the whole way thru never letting the fame and money change him
shareThat’s why he was humble, because he did nothing but shake his hips and sing other peoples songs.
shareElvis is synonymous with Rockstar. he was humble because he grew up poor and knew what it was to have nothing
shareSo did John Paul John and Ringo in Liverpool.
sharethey changed tho and became elites. Elvis remained a man of the people his whole life up until his overdose
shareJohn was so elite he was willing to sign autographs with the guy who killed him…
shareyeah he would do that but ignore his own child from his first marriage. he denied his own blood from his time and money just cause his ugly jap wife brainwashed his simp brain so good. john was a weak man, he was a good musician but a horrible role model. making catchy music isn't enough to forgive John of his sins of being a horrible family man and admitted woman beater
shareHe didn't know he was going to kill him before he signed the autograph. Your logic is like giving the time to someone on the street who asks in passing, only to discover he became Hitler years from then. Resulting in me saying you helped Hitler.
Unless you're suggesting he was killed first, and THEN signed the autograph...
dot is a self admitted former addict who found god. his brain doesnt function too well
shareokay the Beatles made some really good songs but they were a bunch of annoying libturded british assholes that claimed to be more popular than Jesus. there personalities (Johns mainly) represent all that is wrong with musicians. i am not a big fan of Elvis's music as much but he is a rock and roll legend as far as personality goes. served in the army, was an insane drug addict who died young because of it, came from extreme poverty and kept his head straight never claimed to be Godlike these self righteous Beatles. their music was good but John Lennon especially was a complete rotten piece of shit human being. fucked over his own child financially even tho he was a multimillionaire, annoying british superiority complex, woman beater, married an ugly woman and acted like her simp slave eventually ruining the band. Elvis burned out and died like a rockstar with self inflicted drug problems, yeeeeeehaaaawwww!!! John slowly faded into obscurity until eventually being shot by a crazyed fan, lame... Elvis is a badass Murican hero, you dont have to like his outdated music to appreciate his badass personality
shareThe Beatles existed, Jesus didn’t.
The Beatles wrote, played and sang their own songs.
Elvis did not.
I’m glad you read John’s biography though, a complex character and a great read.
Jesus created the biggest Religion that lasted 2000 years. the Beatles were super popular in the 60s but that is it. John especially let it get to his big head and ruined there pure image by getting a Godlike complex

I’m not a musician but isn’t this competent lead guitar playing?
https://youtu.be/M_WxtBP4ePs
Going by the comments on that video it’s hard to tell.
shareElvis could play a little bit of piano and guitar, though I don't think anyone would have said he was elite at them. He played them during his concerts so I'd say he was at least competent.
shareThe Beatles? Who would readily admit they wouldn't exist were it not for Elvis?
shareexactly
People don't realize how influential and changing music was back them. It has nothing to do with stealing and who wrote what song or played what instrument. There were such a burst of creativity and ever changing styles back them you can't compare them. They all had their place. Without Elvis, you don't get the Stones or the Beatles. Without the Beatles, you don't get The Monkees, Oasis and every other band influenced by them. Too many to even try and list. and let's not forget who inspired Elvis. It's just a really dumb and immature argument to not look at the overall picture of the 50s-70s of music.
I feel like this guy very good casting. He is credible to the point it can have you question the Elvis that was. Maybe, it shows Elvis as the ripped off kid he "actually" was? I found the black shirt confronting but he did seem a mommies boy I guess. Maybe the whole backlash against him was based on locker room based Intel.
shareIts a plot hole
shareyeah a horrible casting plot hole alright
shareA plot hole is a plot hole, whether its a story contradiction or a casting error, it doesn't matter
sharetru dat
shareA casting error isn't a plot hole.
shareTo me, any error in a film can mean its a plot hole
shareQuote: "To me, any error in a film can mean its a plot hole"
Well, you're entitled to that opinion, even though it's wrong. And your use of 'can mean' instead of 'does mean' shows you accept not all errors in a film are plot holes anyway. So you've disproved your own argument.
You're right. Thanks
shareCheck out my IMDB review (I gave it 6/10), which was REJECTED 😡:
Title: They've made Elvis and Little Richard overtly homosexual...
Assuming it was Luhrmann's (Director) decision to make Elvis look homosexual, with his black eyeliner and lipstick, where Alton Mason's portrayal of Little Richard singing Tutti Frutti was way more Chris Tucker in The Fifth Element, than his real life persona, he should be thoroughly ASHAMED of this WOKE interpretation, that in NO WAY represents reality (BTW, I love the Fifth Element, INCLUDING Chris Tucker's OTT performance).
I see that Col Parker's character was a BAD caricature too, where IRL he had an unremarkable mild southern accent: mfsDx4IsQe0 (insert youtu.be/) [IMDB also blocks links: https://youtu.be/mfsDx4IsQe0]
Despite the annoyingly historically inaccurate character portrayals, the movie still had its moments, where if you're a long time fan of Elvis it's probably still worth a watch (I agree with those that said it needed more Elvis songs).
...Little Richard? LITTLE RICHARD?!
Uh. Okay. Haha
If you look at Little Richard when he was young it is 100% correct. As to his sexuality, do some research.
