Ages of the fans?

I remember watching the first Phantasm back in the early 90's in the UK, I was no older than 5 (don't ask) With the last film out in 1998 I got the boxset a decade later and watch them all at least three times a year, I love them! Just curious to know the ages of all the fans out there, I'm hitting 30 in July and hoping to see the new movie before then!

Twenty right here. My eldest brother's girlfriend when I was 10 or 11 had this VHS tape called Boogeymen: The Killer Compilation, which contains bios of movie slashers and a brief clip from one of their films. The tape included The Tall Man, and the clip showed the scene from the first film starting when Mike sneaks into the Mortuary late at night and ends when he chops the Tall Man's fingers off when they get stuck in the door. I went to the nearest Hollywood Video and found it among the other films that were shown on that tape. I've been a horror fan ever since.

I'm 41. I was also 5 when I saw it, but I saw it at the drive-in. It was the second feature, and my parents incorrectly assumed I'd be asleep by the time it came on. Gave me nightmares for weeks, and became my favorite horror movie franchise out of a long list of beloved horror movie franchises. I have a friend who is about 48, I think he was 10 or 11 when he saw it, also probably too young, and it also became HIS favorite franchise.

I'm 29. Never even heard of Phantasm until I watch Bravo's 100 Scariest Moving Moments. As a big horror fan, tried to see as many on the list as I could (especially the scariest ones), so I picked up a copy while Blockbuster was still around, and I couldn't believe how great it was. Immediately sought out the others. Now have al 4 on DVD and am waiting eagerly for the 5th.

31 in July

Use to see it on the sci fi channel when they'd show the old movies like puppet master and such.

Awesome to see so many fans! Quite some age difference as well. I can't bloody wait to see this movie!

Thanks for the replies, glad to see so many other fans!

I imagine all kinds of Phans will come out of the woodwork with the 5th one finally coming out :)

I was maybe 9 years old when my dad let me and my brother watch Phantasm. We were immediately enraptured and begged him to rent the sequels for us. Anyways, I remember when the 4th one came out; it's great to be that excited again!

Oops, forgot to mention my age. I'm 28 now.

I'm 44. I first saw the original Phantasm on VHS back in the mid-1980's and I was lucky enough to see Phantasm II in the theater with my younger brother.

Canadian fan here.
Rented the first one when I was around age eleven or twelve.
I'll be twenty nine this September.
As soon as it's released, I'll be screening it with my oldest friend on the phone, as we've watched every installment together, and I now live in another part of the country.
Can't wait.

25. Saw the first when I was a kid. I was interested in horror movies at a young age, and my dad would occasionally let me watch things with him (saw "The Shining" among other things). My mother hates horror movies, and she had seen "Phantasm" in the theater when she was a teenager and it scared the hell out of her. I don't know why, but she was curious about the film, having not seen it in years, and she rented it and I watched it with her when I was around 11 or 12. I was fascinated by the series from then on out.

I'm 48, i saw it first on tv- i think it was when cable was first coming out, maybe 1980 or 81. This movie was magic for a kid with a wild imagination, and it scared the Bee Gees out of me.

I'm 45. The original movie was one of the first I saw on rental VHS back when I was eleven-ish (pre cert days!)

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world
