Moana or Merida (Brave)

.... ok, i cannot decide. When Brave came out. She's my favorite Disney Princess among the past princesses. Now Moana came out, cant help to fall in love with Moana too. Both are strong, skilled and adventurous girls. I am so torn between which I like.waaaaah

Anyway, the reason why i love both of these films is that, it showcases culture and they're strong characters. I think that's important. Love them!!

Moana by a long shot.

Definitely Moana.

I didn't find Merida to be even remotely strong the way Moana was. Merida was selfish, self-entitled, whiny and spiteful. It was her doing that crossed the boundaries that got her in trouble in the first place. Sure she may have learned her lesson by the end of the film but that's hardly a reason to say she's anywhere near strong rather than her naivety became a little less detrimental.

^^ This. Merida's story was more about her learning a lesson, while Moana's story was more about getting up the fortitude to go on a world-saving adventure. The stakes in "Brave" were a lot lower.

I think Moana is a more likable character, but less relatable for most. Possibly even for most girls in the audience. I mean, how many of them have to save the world vs. how many of them have to learn to stop being selfish and get along with their moms?

Not knocking either character; I like both movies.

There is no objective reality... and that's Sucker Punch

In Brave, Elinor is more Brave than her nice bratty daughter, and Moana totally rules as a future "chief-princess" during her own movie, not like Merida in a hypothetic Brave sequel or OUAT show.
Moana, you rocks! ;-)

Moana

Moana, because she was never a dick to her mother or father.

So much definitely Moana in my opinion! I thought Brave was a forgettable movie, but have seen Moana in the theaters twice and found it magical.

I think they are different as they are different age groups-isn't Meridia a younger teenager than Moana?

To me, modern Disney girls looks all 14 years-old, with their tiny boobies.

For me Moana movie is much better than Brave, but Merida as a character is much more interesting than Moana. Merida was a new type of heroine in Disney, while Moana is pretty unoriginal for me. I can name you at least five other Disney heroines with the same personality traits.

This is a very easy choice for me: Moana. She is selfless and fearless. She doesn't disrespect her parents, though she does go against their wishes. But, it was for the greater good. Merida was a little brat. She was too whiny and very selfish. She was mad at her parents because she didn't want to get married, which, I understand because I want to pick my own husband too, but in comparison to Moana, that just seems so little.
