I have watched Kristin Stewart now in four or five movies. This movie has proven once and for all that she has no acting talent. It's a shame she was cast here. It is a very good movie, and Julianne Moore does a phenomenal job, and Alec Baldwin is surprisingly good, but Stewart is way above her head. She, and Bosworth's cold portrayal of a daughter who has been diagnosed with the same disease, is the black eye on this movie.
I agree. I wasn't too fond of Stewart's performance either when I saw this film a while ago. For example, the scene of her character's performance in
Three Sisters and then the end with her "reciting" the monologue. Holy sh-t! Those scenes were uncomfortable to watch. But I did like Julianne Moore's performance so that made it up for me.
Honestly, I think they should have cast someone like Brie Larson as Lydia. She would have elevated that character and at least can ACT.
I detest cheap sentiment.
