‘White Fragility’ author slams podcaster Matt Walsh, who duped her into giving black producer reparations in new doc ..

“White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo slammed well-known conservative podcaster Matt Walsh, who posed as an anti-racist activist and duped her into giving a black producer reparations in an upcoming flick that she called a “Borat-style mockumentary.”

DiAngelo vowed in a statement on Thursday not to watch the film she argued is “designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists,” and addressed the uncomfortable scene that played out between her and right-wing personality Matt Walsh in the documentary “Am I Racist?”

Walsh, 38, went undercover when he sat down with DiAngelo and claimed to be interested in anti-racist sentiments before asking his producer, Ben, who is black, to join them.

Walsh, who works at conservative outlet the Daily Wire, convinced her to give Ben some cash in the form of reparations after Walsh also doled out some of his own dough in the awkward moment.

DiAngelo, 68, said in her lengthy statement that when she was contacted by a group about the doc in 2023, it was supposed to be named “Shades of Justice” and about efforts to combat racism in the US.

She was paid $15,000 (that she later donated) to participate, but when she showed up for the interview, “a few things felt off,” including the “ill-fitting wig” Walsh had on as a man bun.

But she said Walsh seemed “earnest” about anti-racist work and his questions were not adversarial until “things got weird” at the end in which she delved into the cringeworthy reparations scene that left DiAngelo visibly bewildered.

“I was so unsettled by the way Matt manipulated this last scene that I emailed the contact person – who went by the name of ‘Lee Hampton’ – to explain that this scene was not an example of reparations and could mislead viewers,” DiAngelo explained.

“I asked that they not use it in the film and shared several resources overviewing legitimate systemic efforts for reparations.

“He assured me that he understood and that they had not yet decided whether to address reparations. He never again contacted me or answered an email.”

Later, she said she realized she “had been played.”

Walsh reveled in DiAngelo’s comments Thursday as he continued to mock her.

“Robin DiAngelo has issued a statement denouncing our film. She claims that the movie is ‘designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists,’” he tweeted. “She couldn’t be more correct in that assessment. Thank you, Robin!”

“My favorite part of this wonderful statement is that she says she noticed my ‘ill fitting wig’ when she first sat down with me,” he continued.

“And yet for some reason she still did the interview.”

Get fucked you dumb bitch!

I thought the scene with her was the most effective in the movie.

Her whole premise is that white people are so inherently and irredeemably racist that even defending themselves from accusations of racism is a form of fragility and a corrupt unwillingness to accept the truth.

Thus, despite having done nothing wrong to the black guy acting in the scene, she acquiesced to dig through her purse to pay him personal reparations rather than object considering she had done nothing wrong to him.

She was not humiliated by Walsh. She was humiliated by the practical extremes of her own absurd thesis.

She's a racist and grifter... I'm glad a spotlight has been shown on her.

reply

Like Ben Shapiro says, play stupid games, win stupid prizes

reply

Its a great idiom but Ben didnt come up with it if thats what you are suggesting.

reply

What about "facts don't care about your feelings"? Does he deserve credit for that one?

reply

Trump didn't come up with "make America great again" either but that's his brand today

reply

Fair enough. I just remember hearing the "play stupid games" phrase long before Benjamin was a thing.

reply

I’ve always thought it came from Letterman’s old “stupid human tricks” sketches.

reply

If she's that stupid (and she is), she deserves to be humiliated and discredited. Walsh is brilliant.

I watched it today, and the film did not seem to misrepresent her at all. One effective thing the film did was to allow the anti-racists to speak their piece, and gave them a lengthy forum to share their views. Unlike Borat, and other similar films, we don't get quick snippets that are clearly manipulated to seem like "gotcha" moments. Rather, the opposing side is given most of the film's runtime to make their point. That their point sounds ridiculous to 99% of viewers is indicative of how moronic the anti-racist and DEI movements are.

reply

That just means the editing is more subtle than Borat , which is basically a sketch show.
Giving a small minority of DEI extrmists (who probably really are anti white racists) a spotlight to try to excuse traditional racism.

reply

Racism is racism, and it's all bad. That's the message of the film, and my belief as well.

reply

What is your proof that Walsh was doing this to excuse traditional racism? What evidence do you have? Find some quote Walsh made that justifies, apologizes for, excuses, or defends traditional racism. If this is what you believe he is doing it for, you should have no problem finding something he has said or done to justify that belief.

And just to lay the groundwork, woke redefinitions of racism are not acceptable (e.g. racism = privilege + power, disparate outcomes or impacts automatically mean racism, etc.) If we're talking about "traditional" racism, we're going to have to stick with traditional definitions of it.

reply

DiAngelo is an evil fuck, so it's great to see her exposed and humiliated. The woman rakes in millions by aggressively perpetuating racism, scaring blacks ("All whites are secretly against you"), and browbeating whites ("You are indelibly racist and any denial of racism is evidence of your racism").

reply

Her meltdown is satisfying to see. When I saw her bit in the trailer I couldn't believe that Walsh managed to get her to sit down for an interview considering how she never debates nor does any interview or talk where she takes any opposing questions nor engages in legitimate exchange. Seeing her get hung and embarrassed by her own ideas to the point that she had to write a response and deleted her twitter account is beautiful. She is such an evil race baiting grifter and the top figure head of the whole critical race theory nonsense, about time she was exposed for what she is to the general public.
