I've mostly enjoyed the franchise;even the lesser sequels have their moments. But I think the JW movies stumbled by emphasizing the action and humor a bit too much over the intrigue and horror. So I hope that 'Rebirth' at least tries to lean on the latter elements more.

Lost World is underrated, with its atmosphere & look being clearly inspired by John Guillermin's 1976 version of King Kong, and even though Malcolm's adopted kid ruined every scene she was in, the rest of it was good. The third one was a decent adventure story, action packed and entertaining with a talented cast.
Jurassic World was typical brainless shit for the smartphone generation, all action and zero atmosphere or tension. Fallen Kingdom is one of the worst creature features made.
I completely agree with you. The sequels just lack that mystique and magic of the original. The special effects still look better too.

I liked Dominion.

JPIII was a little lighter on it's feet with the "Kirby's".
Some good scenes, especially the birdcage.
But the dialogue was awful.
I liked the JW...and part II had some amazing moments...the Dinosaur in the bedroom window, stand out the best.
JW3 was a disaster, because it jumped the shark and went straight to the future.
