I have a questions for atheists....

No, I don't believe in anything supernatural.

If someone believes people have souls, then by definition he's not an atheist.

By "soul" of course we refer to the traditional meaning given in the Christian religion, a God given and unique attribute given to each person alive that after that person dies, returns to heaven/hell.

If by soul we mean the sum of our feelings, beliefs, our personality etc., something in other words without any paranormal or metaphysical properties, then of course.

As an atheist I of course don't believe in a soul that is independent of the brain matter. But our mind certainly has a soul. It's a useful concept.

"Psyche" means soul, so psychology is the science of the soul.

I also believe that you can "sin" against your soul and I believe in god as a concept or idea that is part of us. But not something supernatural.

Atheism doesn't mean one doesn't believe in ghosts or the afterlife. It means we don't believe in god(s). It's unlikely an atheist believes in the afterlife and beings beyond the known physical Universe as it lacks evidence to substantiate it (just like all religious claims).

Do I believe in a soul? I believe reality is stranger than fiction. I believe if we knew the full extent of the truth of our reality our minds would surely implode. That said, I don't believe in something existing when that thing wholly lacks evidence. So, no, I don't believe we have a 'soul'. I'm certainly open to that possibility.

Do you believe we have a soul on faith? Or do you have reason beyond that?

no. but atheism is not really an ism as in we aren't an organized group with a set of creeds. we just don't believe in such a thing as god. beyond that there can be all kinds of crazy believes within atheist. in our natural state we would all be atheist
