If you don't believe in ghosts, gods or demons, do you believe people have souls?

How do you define 'soul'. I don't know what you necessarily mean by that.

I ask this question, because I often encounter people who have different usages for the word. As an example, I met somebody that believes the consciousness is our 'soul'. In that case, I reject the usage of the word 'soul', but agree that we do have a consciousness and that according to said persons usage, a soul exists.

The idea of a soul as its own separate thing in our body that lingers on? I see no evidence as to why anybody should think such a thing is true.
