Loved Trainspotting, great movie top to bottom... There is simply no need for a sequel, from a storyline or financial perspective.
Don't do it!!! Some are best left alone!!
The sequel was the book, it came out a long time ago already. If they adapt it I'm gonna be very happy.

Some who loved the book, before Trainspotting was made into a film, probably thought it shouldn't be made. Yet you think it was good, that it ended up being made.
There is no need for any movies at all. There doesn't need to be a need. Movies are made because someone just wants to, or because they can make money on it.
If you loved Trainspotting, you should appreciate that this movie is coming. Even if it's going to suck, it's still great to see something, that is related to the movie you loved. If nothing else, it's can re-ignite the nostalgia, and is a good reason to re-watch the old one.

there seems to be a trend in hollwood today for making sequels waaay past the expiration date. look at the list. Independence day 2, Indiana jones 4, dumb and dumber 2 (really?), die hard 4, Jurassic park 4, hell they are even making a bladerunner sequel, and that's 34 years old! and that was more of an art film anyway. hey lets just make an E.T. 2 while we're at it! cmon, this is ridiculous. making a great original film is one thing, especially if it takes people by surprise and was actually GOOD. but having some crappy money making sequel only ruins the credibility and artistic integrity the original may have had. NOT every halfway decent movie needs a sequel!

um, ALL those sequels I mentioned sucked. and some sucked really hard. so yeah, I'm expecting crap, will be shocked if it turns out to be good.
