Eli Roth loved it!

Maybe this is better than I thought, Eli Roth saw it and tweeted:

Okay...saw the very 1st screening of Devil's Due. Scariest found footage film since Paranormal Activity. It's so scary. Like Conjuring scary. Don't pre-judge Devil's Due because Rosemary's Baby is a holy grail movie. It's so smart, creative, inventive, and fun. Very very scary. The guys at Radio Silence killed it. Devil's Due is a legit scary, smart, horror film. So many awesome scenes. I loved it.

Now I'll see it for sure!

Good, then I won't see it. Eli Roth wouldn't know horror if it came gushing out of his ass.

Sinister is one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen. I really hate saying indulgent crap like that, but I laughed harder in Sinister than I did in any comedy that year. The Conjuring (while not particularly scary) was a darn great movie. I might check this out because I love movies like these. I know they're not always good, but it looks like fun.

Eli Roth has terrible B movie taste.

reply

Hmmmm I wonder if he thinks it's scary?

reply

Ruben Kinkaid got real scared, too. Zzzzzzzzzzz....

reply

Hmmm... Does any horror fan besides Roth think that Paranormal activity was scary? The most overrated horror movie of all time.

This looks interesting though. Found footage movies usually suck because low budget movie makers find a cheap way to make a movie, but some are indeed good. Let's hope the cam is not too shaky.

I think that comes down to what you believe in or what scares you. I watched Paranormal Activity with a boyfriend who was raised in a very religious environment, and he absolutely believed in demons and possession. He clutched my arm and jumped and gasped... and quite honestly, his reactions were infectious. He made the movie scary for me because he was so immersed in the fact that he believed in it.

So, I guess, even if you're not the super religious type, if you're able to submerse yourself into the story and pretend what the characters are experiencing is happening to you? Then yeah. Paranormal Activity is scary as *beep* (the first one, I won't vouch for sequels).

Who cares what Eli Roth thinks? He's the worst horror director on the planet.
