I have no interest in this
for some reason.
shareIt's a really good movie. The performances are excellent. It has humour, heart and emotion. I recommend it.
shareHave you ever watched a film and thought "Why was this movie made?" Wait until it gets to Redbox or free TV and there's nothing else on that's interesting. It fills a void. Nothing new. You may even crack a smile from time to time.
shareBeen feeling that toward a lot of movies these days, this included. But I'm sure I'll watch it eventually.
Me neither.
1. There is no clear idea what it's about.
2. It looks "silly" and probably a bunch of shit thrown together.
3. It's again a Hitler is silly, Jews are great, thing, I assume.
4. Lots of other groups didn't do well in WWII, but never movies about them, just the same old thing.
5. I believe a lot of movies like this are a form of pandering to the people that run Hollywood for favors and new part.
6. I doubt it has a plot.
You people obviously don’t no Taika Waititis previous work (not counting Thor) as his name alone is enough to put people in seats. Why are you even members of a movie chat forum if your so ignorant?
I have no interest in him and he didn't put me in a seat and I have a huge fund of knowledge about film.
shareHave you seen “Hunt for the Wilderness People?”
shareIt sounds cliched.
shareLol see you know shit.
shareTAIKA DOESNT GET MUCH LOVE HERE...I DONT GET IT...IVE ENJOYED OR LOVED EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE.
shareBut I mean a guy takes a kid out in the wilderness to escape authority.
How many things could happen or be talked about in such a film?
REALLY?...MY DINNER WITH ANDRE IS TWO DUDES EATING AND CHATTING...GREAT FLICK...A QUICK SKIM FOR STANDOUT ELEMENTS IS NO WAY TO JUDGE FILMS.
shareYeah, I saw My Dinner once and that was enough. Plus, those were two artists so the convo is going to be unique.
But seriously, there was no My Lunch With Andre because the idea was played out after that film. There's been lots of "Two guys wandering around" films and only so much gets covered.
Adlerian it seems you are bit of a Nazi/German sympathizer from what you said in another thread.
You seem dumb.
😂
Ok Alfred Adler. You seem a c@nt.
Lol jimmy.
Here’s what Adlerian wrote
“In addition, the Germans had very valid reasons for hating them (Jews). And, you will never see a movie about that. “
SOUNDS LIKE YOU WANT TO MAKE ONE
I see what you're saying.
In my opinion, if you gloss over facts in life, about anything, you can't solve the problem. You need to take an honest look at all the factors in a problem in order to solve it and not have it repeat.
I have to ask, why don't you know this?
If you break down the situation in WWII with Germany and these groups they didn't like, then it's easy to see what and why. For instance, Gypsies are a strange culture that wandered into Europe from India. They have many strange beliefs such as marrying children and believing everyone but them is a sucker that you can steal from, etc. They are still a major crime problem in Eastern Europe and I have seen them in action with my own eyes.
Imagine you have a country of hard working people who take pride in their country and you have roving bands of criminals moving around your country exploiting people.
If you want to solve that you have to show what the Gypsies are all about honestly. You can show that there are nice ones, but most they have a crime culture. So, you have to imply in a story that this crime culture flipped out the Germans and if you stop the crime culture, the anger will stop. Meanwhile, you have to show the Germans as overreacting to the Gypsies. Being a bunch of petty criminals who annoy people doesn't warrant the death penalty.
So, both groups were wrong. The Nazis didn't kill Gypsies for fun but because they had reasons for not liking them.
Same thing with Jews. No religion is real. There are no "god's chosen people" that is just bullshit from a cult to make people narcissistic, etc.
If films keep promoting the propaganda that Hitler was a crazy goofy guy then no one will learn anything and history will repeat.
Cool there’s an ignore feature.
OK..Ignore Arschloch..CLICK
If nothing else, we can see how the Nazi's indoctrinated children into their belief system, and how twisted that system was.....and ultimately how a child was able to free themselves from that by understanding that people are all the same. The comedy aspect is important, it humanized it and keeps the film from being too heavy....
shareI watched it twice this week Amigo
It really is a great comedy/drama
Thanks for sharing.
shareIt's a very good film. But for me not the least bit funny. It was not possible to divorce the action on the screen from the horror of the time. There are several excellent performances and moments but this film goes on my once only list.
