Last Jedi was so terrible...

that the only way to save the trilogy is to pretend it was never made.

reply

the last Jedi was awesome.

reply

It was really good. Almost as good as The Force Awakens.

reply

both movie were awesome.

reply

Both movies were horrible

I would have to agree. I haven't liked this or The Force Awakens at all. I didn't like seeing all these new people I don't like much or can't identify with, I didn't like seeing all our favorite characters as old farts, I REALLY didn't like seeing the old relationships downplayed, I missed Yoda, the way the Force is being portrayed is not accurate to how Jedi (especially untrained ones) use it when not trained, and a bunch of other issues. Frankly, the Prequels, lousy as they are, are way better than this wreck. Lucas made a huge mistake, selling the franchise. If he'd known it would come to this, he would have turned down the $4.6 billion Disney was offering him. Oh, and Kathleen Kennedy should be shot for turning the franchise into an SJW festival.

Believe me, most Americans do not want to lectured on how to be a good stupid Liberal drone and bow to the PC cult.

BRAVO! BRAVO! You ABSOLUTELY stole my thunder! I couldn't have said it any better! At least the prequels kept the star wars mythos within the star wars universe! These Disney movies are HORRIFIC!!!!

reply

prequels did not just keep the mythos within the star wars universe it expanded it greatly. Sith, Padawans, Coruscant, balance etc etc were not even mentioned in the Originals.

If it were not for Palpatine's rise-to-power plot and the fall of the Republic I would not care for what happens in this juvenile universe and stay with Star Trek and other more cerebral sci fi.

reply

The Knights of the Old Republic game also did a good job expanding on the canon without ruining anything, as well as The Old Republic MMO. Of any Star Wars game I've played, none is more fascinating than "Star Wars the Old Republic."

Well said. It's unfortunate how misguided & woefully unappreciative some "fans" are about what the PT did right & how much great lore it introduced & expanded upon. TFA which some people are still deluding themselves to be a good film expanded on absolutely nothing, had nothing new or interesting to say almost entirely piggybacking off of the OT with plageristic reckless abandon. "Great Movie!"

reply

This is known as prequel-fagging.

reply

the way the Force is being portrayed is not accurate to how Jedi (especially untrained ones) use it when not trained

Luke was a Force user before he was ever trained (and no, Kenobi telling him to swing at a flying taser ball for one minute is not training).

He even used telekinesis at the beginning of Empire Strikes Back even though he didn't know it was possible! He had never seen it done and was never told it could be done.

Then all he needs to become a Jedi Master is a few days or maybe two weeks with Yoda... Instead of over a decade of training and then decades of practice.

Who taught Luke lightsaber combat? NO ONE. How did he become good enough to defeat Vader? It's a mystery.

Who taught Luke how to build his own lightsaber? NO ONE. Did anyone teach him the Jedi Mind Trick he tried to use on Jabba? Who knows.

But see, Luke is allowed to do this stuff, apparently.

Frog, I don't know if it's more sad or impressive how dedicated you are to trolling with the same false & thoroughly debunked talking points over and over. It says a lot, the fact that you have to straight up lie in order to defend the plot holes & inconsistencies with the plagiarized dumpster fire that is TFA & your crappy MaRey Sue.

reply

Luke worked harder and didn’t always succeed and still he wasn’t as good as MaRey Sue who is probably the most poorly written character in the history of cinema

reply

Agreed, i liked TFA, this just killed my enthusiam for star wars , so much in fact i got rid of all my vintage toys from the 70s and 80s, now i dont really care for any future movies, my cannon is the original cinematic released from 77, 80 and 83, nothing else exsists for me , no special editions , no prequels, no sequels no standalones even though i do like Rogue One and Solo

reply

You need the prequels. I heard that even Simon Pegg (a former prequel despiser) has done a complete U-turn on them and even apologised to the Binks actor.

reply

Which implies that if he still hated the movies with a passion, he would be totally unapologetic about the treatment and abuse that Ahmed Best got. Nice.

The fact is Simon Pegg hasn't done a u-turn on the prequels. He just said that it was probably unnecessary to be such a whining manbaby about it. Then went on to say that he disapproves of "haters" being defined as whining manbabies.

Haven't heard anything out of Simon Pegg for almost ten years now that wasn't somewhat disingenuous posturing or desperate to show that he's not the man-child persona that made his career.

reply

The last Jedi was just really disappointing….. The only good news hier ist that Disney can not do it worse than with TLJ (I hope at least).

reply

LoL so its all uphill from here since its already rock bottom.

reply

I'm not sure it has hit rock bottom yet. They can still make this thing worse.

reply

I'm trying to imagine how though.

reply

Way too late for that now.

reply

Agree.
There were so many things I disliked but for me it all comes down to one thing.
Killing off Luke and killing him in the state that he was.
I hated the way they ruined the Luke character and what they did with him. That being said I kept waiting for him to snap out of it and to turn into the hopeful, brave person he had always been..........and they could still do that even now IF they didn't kill him off. There is no way to save the Luke character now. Force ghosts be damned for me, that doesn't count. They brought him back after 30 years, could have had him in 3 movies but instead brought him back for one film, ruined his character and then killed him off.

There is no way to fix that.

reply

this is the best one with that Alien Green Tiddy Milk scene I wish every Star Wars movie had a scene this epic and moving.
