Its Disney canon. And noone has to pay any attention to that company. Its like when Lucas did his "Han shot first". No real fan gave a damn about it, cause they already got the amazing Laserdisc edition :) .
Another good example is Star Trek Enterprise. Im one of the few fans which realized that Star Trek Enterprise was an awesome series, cause it got back to the exploration format of TOS. And there were a lot of different characters at the ship so that the chemistry between them was fine. But (!!!!!!) when they turned ST ENT into a stupid war crime series (like todays ST Discovery) with season 3 I stopped watching it. So beside there are more then 2 seasons of ST ENT released, I dont give a damn about them.
Or an even better example is Star Trek Continues vs Star Trek Discovery. Star Trek Continues is one of the best Star Trek series ever released. Its for the first time that a series was that good that I felt like the child again that watched the TOS reruns at the late 70s :) (and, beside that im indeed watching also old movies, im also not a hater of everything released today (there are many awesome movies released in this decade). But given the fact that most movies made today are only (!) optimized for worldwide box office sales, there isnt much room left for good stories or characters. Thats why there are indeed today less interesting movies then a few dacades ago). But for CBS/Paramount it doesnt exist at all. But horrible Star Trek Discovery, which no Star Trek fan give a sh*t about, is CBS/Paramount canon (which no fan give a damn about :) ).
So company canon is sometimes interesting, but its just one of many canons out there.
