The whole concept of blackness and whiteness is outdated. People are individuals from many different social groups so skin color does not accurately describe a person. Modern DNA tests can provide percentage breakdowns of a person's DNA. Blackness and whiteness is an outdated concept. It is an OPINION. Most of what we post on forums are opinions and they are hopefully supported by facts from news articles. Obama said that race is a social construct.
This whole conversation started over Megan Markle making claims about being "black" when her DNA tests show that she is 43% Nigerian. The BIG question is when is somebody black or white or mixed-race? I contend that a black/white label is outdated when DNA test results can now provide accurate percentages of the origins of a person and their family tree.

DNA results for African-Americans would never show only one African nationality. Numerous African ethnic groups were mixed during centuries of slavery, therefore a real DNA result would show a percentage breakdown of different African regions. Example: 22% Nigeria; 13% Mali; 9% Congo, Senegal & Ghana (grouped regions appear a lot), etc..
And nationality percentages are not reliable since they change with each update. And some nationalities will disappear or appear. It's not an exact science.
White Americans whose ancestry dates back centuries can have many nationalities too like her father's side has: German, English and Irish. But, the percentages will similarly change with each update and other inaccurate results may pop-up.
If you're only one ethnic group, (ex. Irish) then that is likely to be accurate. Multiple ethnic groups = inaccurate results.
Racial breakdowns are usually much more accurate.
Meghan lied about being Nigerian, therefore her 43% percentage is probably a lie, too. Don't forget her mother is part white, also.
Race is opinion, but it's used to marginalize one group and empower another group. We live in a race-based hierarchy or caste system.

The term Sub-Saharan Africa is NOT a racist euphemism. It is a term used by scientists and educated people. North Africa was part of the Roman Empire for several centuries and it was separated from the rest of Africa by the Sahara Desert. Different cultures developed in Northern Africa due to the natural barrier that is the Sahara Desert.
The people on the Solomon Islands are Melanasians so they aren't necessarily "black". Also, only 5-10% of the population have blonde hair and that is a significant minority. Africans wanted to get out of Africa long before slavery even started. It's possible they had boats that carried them out to the Pacific or they might have been living on the Australian continent. The aboriginals of Australia appear to be closely related to Africans.

I'm not a scientist so I could be wrong. I am skeptical of any claims that ALL humans came out of Africa. The fossil record is not complete and I previously noted that West Africans have ghost DNA that does not match any known fossils. Many areas that are presently underwater were not underwater during the Ice Age. There also could be future fossils discovered under the permafrost of Siberia.
