Is this police behaviour for real??

Guys, i am from Greece and have never visited the U.S. but i have a quick question about a fact in the movie that shocked me. Is this police behaviour usual? Would they ever behave to people like that even after a fight has broken? Apart from the shot, the fact that they punched and held them there without even having witnessed what happened is absolutely beyond me.

Some cops here are good people, but a lot are not. I've seen a lot of cops who think they have power, so they can treat people like *beep* and racism is a problem.

In Detroit, the police officers are robbing the citizens. I've seen people tossed around and sworn at by police. Some cops are good, but a lot are not. They're obsessed with the little power they have, and the cops in Fruitvale Station seemed like they could be real cops.

Yes in the USA and Canada. This behavior by some police officers is normal. Me I've visited the Us about 200 times and haven't had any real problems with the police.

Yes this is. I live in Southern California and just recently the police officers who beat and pretty much murdered a homeless man in Fullerton were found not guilty. There is video proof of what they did, but sadly they got away with it.

The police can be high strung and tense, but it is also easy to avoid them and stay out of trouble.

Yes. Sadly it portrays American police 90% accurately. Most police are like this.

This is practically normal everywhere in the world to a certain degree. There are certain percentages of cops that act like thugs with badges.

This percentage of course depends on the location, sociopolitical conditions and background. I've seen cops that act like gangsters but I've also seen good cops that are professional.

Usual, but not all the time. That's why most precincts have a memorial of some sort for their fallen officers, some of whom fell victim due to not behaving like this.

We live in a real world, not in a dream world.

Most police-types have an entitled, bullying streak. It's the kind the job attracts. And they may act like normal people 90% of the time. But get them angry, and you may get shot. We read about it in the papers every day. And they almost NEVER get locked up for it, or lose their jobs.
The ass that shot Oscar is suing to get his conviction overturned, so he can become a cop again!
And generally, cops see the world as 'us or them'. If you aren't one of them, you don't belong, have any rights, are suspect, and likely a criminal! It's shoot first, and ask questions later.
I believe the cop was scared, and actually thought he had his taser. But he shouldn't have even been using that! He seems to feel no remorse!
And I'll NEVER understand why people don't look these guys up, a few years later.
