What are some things you didn't like about this movie? *spoiler warning*

Even the best movies can have their flaws. With that said, is there anything you didn't like about this movie or that you had a complaint about? Just curious. I thought the ending with the girl being alive felt like kind of a cop-out. It felt kind of forced, but the main character was really tragic anyway and deserved a happy ending. So I don't know.

Also, I've noticed some people mentioned the girl having a weird black thing on her neck at the end when we see her in the hospital. I guess it's easy to miss things like that on your first viewing, lol. I didn't notice at all. Guess that could explain her being alive. That aside, there's really nothing else I dislike about the movie.

the soap opera twist and some iffy score, like the acoustic montage.

Slow pacing. Some boring & lengthy household Koichi-Noirko-Akiko moments! Too many long close-ups on facial expressions! Still little less Godzilla moments.

Otherwise, a great movie & story. They should have established the logic (even by a one line dialog) that after Godzilla came back to water level, his body went fragile due do decompression and because of that, Koichi's bombing worked - hence it was a combined effort and that the refrigerant gas action wasn't a failure.

The movie has many stupid flaws but I still enjoyed it. It's current 7.9 on IMDB is extremely overrated though. Here just a couple things I didn't like I have many other complaints but these come immediately to mind.

1. It's absurd that the survivor mechanic from Oda Island would still try blaming Shikashima for not shooting Godzilla with the Zero fighters 20mm cannon to "Save" the other machanics by shooting it. Godzilla by then took out Battleships.

2. It was absolutely insane that the United States Military wouldn't fight Godzilla. Supposedly because of Soviet Tensions. In '47 the USA was the only country to own Nukes it had zero reason to be worried about any other nation. This was lazy script writing to keep the USA out of the Gozilla movies. I understand it's a Japanese story and movie they aren't going to make the film have the USA as it's Knight in shining armor. However realistically the USA would be more worried about Godzilla than the Soviets in 1947.

3. The Mechanic installing an ejection seat in just a day is impossible and shoehorned in the script for a takeout death.

That night on Oda Island, Godzilla was young & small in size. It wouldn't have been killed though, but the mechanic could still have that contention.

Yes. I did not like that the girl survived.

There is nothing wrong with this movie. It's the best Godzilla movie ever.

I found the film fairly mediocre to poorly written and not particularly engaging, especially the first two thirds. The plot is clunky and convenient and fairly by the numbers, and there are a number of ridiculous contrivances, like the female lead pushing the male into the alleyway before they're hit by the bomb blast rather than, I don't know, just throwing herself into him and saving them both? Why did she just push him? Because she needed to disappear for a while so the rest of the story could happen. And it's a good thing that blast didn't shatter the buildings in that alleyway like it did just about every other part of the city. Also, the acting was pretty bad at times, almost cartoony. I felt like I was watching an anime, the performances were so exaggerated.

It also just dragged endlessly. Too much focus on the relationship with the woman and the child, which was not particularly interesting. The last third was pretty good, but the film could have easily cut 30-45 minutes from it and been way better, tighter, with less excessive crap. It wasn't a terrible film, but way way overrated. I preferred the previous Japanese Godzilla from a few years ago, the one set in the modern day.

When they were trying to 'sink' Gojira, he seems to be standing in waist deep water. Where was he supposed to sink to?

you must be blind to not totally notice that black scar thing on her neck at the end. We can all see it since the movie zooms in on that area of her neck
