people are getting sick of the "handheld" genre. It was great when The Blair witch project came out but not anymore because the stories are not intersting enough.

In the case of Afflicted and PA: The Marked Ones, they both copied chronicle, which shows how cheap is the industry nowadays

I dont understand why people hated BWP... I thought it was a good and scary movie for it's time.

Can understand how someone may not like this,but It's a great example of this genre on a strict budget.To say it was horrible just says you are very immature or have an awful understanding of film.

Agreed i am so tired of theses pov movies, i was hoping they would drop that gender movie. This ooe could have been good if they did not do that dumb camera filming and running pov. Before i rent a movie i try to see if its one of these pov movies if it is it just stays on the shelf.

This movie might be found footage, but it's not like PA. It's conceit is one of the characters is a director shooting a travelogue of their cross-world journey. It's not incidental cameras, he has a rig to reduce shaky cam (pretty much not there at all), and makes sense in the presentation of the movie.

Plot wise. Rocks hard. A very realistic take on the vampire story. No glittery twilight skin or sexiness here. This is a harsh world for the Afflicted. Where animal blood is no good and you are forced to KILL to keep from going feral. It's very similar to An American Werewolf in London but with vampires instead of werewolves.

What is truly amazing is that this is a low budget picture that makes many high budget pictures look weak in retrospect. These guys accomplish A LOT for their cash.

To each their own but this is an inspired little vampire movie that borrows heavily from Chronicle in it's delivery. Original? Not so much, but INSPIRED, hell yeah. In a genre that's been dying for years this is a must see for vampire fans.

Surprisingly good movie, lots of fun, definitely worth the time.
