Did you see the creature in the background at 1:28:49?

At 1:28:49, the view of the animal enters the frame from the right, as Reese starts running in the forest away from the potential rapist hunter. The creature is blurred in the background, but it can be seen turning its head with glowing eyes as it looks toward the camera. I'm guessing it's a type of fox or coyote. It's kinda freaky when watching the movie though!

This is also in the book. At one point during the night, Cheryl gets out of her tent and for a brief second she sees two eyes looking at her. She never knew what it was.

According to the director-producer commentary, it was meant to be the fox. It was put in in post production and meant to be blurry.

I saw it recently and went back over it to freeze frame at that point. It's clearly the fox. People should get their eyes checked.

I saw the film just once, yesterday. I thought it was clearly that red fox.

I assumed she felt the ghost of her mom was watching over her in animal form. The fox watching her when she was sitting on the mountain, etc.

I have no idea what it was, but it does look humanoid. I've thought that maybe it was a nod to the possibility that bigfoot is around.

There are reported bigfoot sightings along parts of the trail. (I don't know that bigfoot exists, but people I know and trust have reported seeing the creature.)

It would be sweet if someone involved with the movie would chime in and give us some clarity. It's weird enough that you would think someone reviewing the final cut would see it. There is defiantly something there, shifting positions and seemingly following Reese's movements.
