Did you see the creature in the background at 1:28:49?

At 1:28:49, the view of the animal enters the frame from the right, as Reese starts running in the forest away from the potential rapist hunter. The creature is blurred in the background, but it can be seen turning its head with glowing eyes as it looks toward the camera. I'm guessing it's a type of fox or coyote. It's kinda freaky when watching the movie though!

okay, i'm watching this movie now, and because of this thread I had to watch that scene over and over and over lol. (I never would have noticed it if I didn't read it here first). I agree with the poster who said it looked like a bear. And I had to laugh at the 2 monkey guesses lol. actually this whole thread is pretty funny... bigfoot, mammouth.

I replayed that scene in slow motion, too, and still could not figure out what that creature was. It did in fact look like a monkey, which of course didn't make any sense. It also sort of looked like a bear, but I don't think that would make any sense, either. It being the fox would have been logical, but it didn't look like it. Weird.

I thought it was odd the lack of wild life she saw
a snake,caterpillar,fox,green frogs and a llama.oh, and a white horse.

It did look like "Bigfoot." I think it was supposed to symbolize something since they took time to show it.

Since some believe the fox symbolizes her mother's spirit and watching over her, I assumed it was the fox. She's "getting away" from the freaky rapist-like hunter, and the fox (her mother) is with her and watching her as she runs to safety. Those were my thoughts.

I think it's a joke by the filmmakers...it rather does look like Bigfoot.

Since this film is full of symbolism I took it to be the "beast" she was escaping from which was an echo f her former life. It's mentioned in one of the flashbacks she'd have sex with any man who'd ask. she went with twelve condoms initially I think the idea was she probably would end up sleeping with whomever she met with. In the end, she sheds that part of her history and gets over it like she gets over so many other parts of her history the further the story progresses. She takes just one condom and saves it for when she needs to feel human and connected again. She has sex with someone gentle and romantic, not the rough people she encounters.

The "creature" looming of the shadows couLd be symbolic of the dark part of her life, the complete disregard for her safety and dignity. She walks straight by it without even looking back.

I also, thought it was meant to be a mountain lion or something of that ilk. Interesting shot though.

I think is the same fox which appears along the movie. :-)

Paused it to be sure.
Big tail, big hears, redish color. It's the fox.

It looks humanoid, to me. I had to rewind and pause, something I never like to do. I'm still somewhat creeped out by it, the shallow depth of field blurs it to the extend that it's left to the imagination.
