Am I the only person that loved this movie?

Seriously, I thought it was great. Who cares if it's not realistic, who cares if it has a couple little plot holes here and there? It's an amazing movie with a tremendous use of visual effects. What's with people these days immediately hating a movie just because the movie portrays a sequence of events that are unlikely to happen? I swear you must all be a boring bunch of people. I see comments like "What a piece of *beep* that could never happen!" and I'm just like... that's the point. If people only filmed *beep* that's going to happen we wouldn't have half the great movies we have today.

I had an awesome argument prepared when I started this subject, but forgot it before I started typing :/. You get the point though.

Read my strap-line!

There is real life ... and then there are movies!

Definitely not the only person that liked this film!
I just watched it and loved it - no more unbelievable than the Die Hards. I haven't seen a film with so much non stop action for years. And it was enjoyable!

The way almost all the characters got disposed of I was surprised anyone was left standing.

I highly enjoyed it.

The biggest problem I have with action movies these days(other than all the lame PG-13 ratings) is the complete implausibility of some things, especially if physics are being ignored. Whether or not the story could really happen isn't as important to me as the logic of every action sequence. I want decent character development first, so that I care about them and what happens to them, and then I want to be on the edge of my seat during action sequences instead of laughing at how absurd and impossible something is. You know, like how every action sequence in Fast & Furious movies is completely impossible and laughable..........I hate that.

No. I enjoyed it a lot too. I would have enjoyed more is they used the real threat to America, Islamic Extremists, but of course someone wimped out on that. And the President reminded me of Obama too much, spineless, and the sci-fi aspect of a plane with a force field were some of the things I didn't enjoy. I thought Gerard Butler was very likable, and I enjoyed his macho sarcasm which I DID find similar to Bruce Willis' character. I thought he pulled off the role well.
