Am I the only person that loved this movie?

Seriously, I thought it was great. Who cares if it's not realistic, who cares if it has a couple little plot holes here and there? It's an amazing movie with a tremendous use of visual effects. What's with people these days immediately hating a movie just because the movie portrays a sequence of events that are unlikely to happen? I swear you must all be a boring bunch of people. I see comments like "What a piece of *beep* that could never happen!" and I'm just like... that's the point. If people only filmed *beep* that's going to happen we wouldn't have half the great movies we have today.

I had an awesome argument prepared when I started this subject, but forgot it before I started typing :/. You get the point though.

No, Timmy boy, you're very right! The movie is fantastic, so interesting fiction, about visual effects - have no words as well. IMO, one of the best action movies I watched since...dunno, let's say, from 2000.
And, I forgot - Kang is the one!!! Isn't he? hehehe...cheers, Tim.

no, you're not the only one, i too thought the film was great, imperfect yes but still great.

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman are irresistible to me.

there are 2 quick instances i love watching, where Butler tells the terrorist leader what he plans on doing to him and a brief little moment where Butler shoots a kneeling terrorist in the head at point blank without looking - badass.

the effects were fun to look at.

the movie truly felt epic at some parts, i mean the stakes couldn't have been higher and the tension never let up.

i think any Die Hard similarities are side effects of the film wanting to homage the good old Die Hard-like action movies of the 80's

and finally, i really appreciated the fact that, despite the film being completely self aware and knowing it was going to be silly, they still knew just where to put realistic stuff, for example when a terrorist is killed it's flashy and awesome, but when a hostage is beaten up it feels brutal and very close to real.

so yeah, i loved it too.

It Was Great Movie with Poor Ending

Should Have Killed the President, In real Life there are no Gerard Buttler to Save President
After All it really doesn't matter who runs presidency, the world is controlled by Elite Group
So no need to keep that President Alive...
Great Movie, Great Action.... Better than Super Man & new Amazing Spider Man 2 & Better than King Kong & A lot Better than Stupid Pathetic THOR...

I liked it too. I didn't read all 9+ pages of replies between the first and whatever page my reply ends up on but I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable movie even if it was unbelievable. Although I only saw it once, in the theater, I had no problem with the characters or special effects. I'd like to give a big thumbs-up to the scriptwriter that decided NOT to include any type of romantic subplot. What was already there worked great.
I guess there are just too many people these days that can't turn off their brains and simply enjoy movies for what they are - entertainment.

R.I.P. - Saturday Morning Cartoons. You will be forever in our hearts.
