Am I the only person that loved this movie?

Seriously, I thought it was great. Who cares if it's not realistic, who cares if it has a couple little plot holes here and there? It's an amazing movie with a tremendous use of visual effects. What's with people these days immediately hating a movie just because the movie portrays a sequence of events that are unlikely to happen? I swear you must all be a boring bunch of people. I see comments like "What a piece of *beep* that could never happen!" and I'm just like... that's the point. If people only filmed *beep* that's going to happen we wouldn't have half the great movies we have today.

I had an awesome argument prepared when I started this subject, but forgot it before I started typing :/. You get the point though.

I enjoyed this movie. Yes it was not realistic but it had action from beginning to end.

This movie should have been a lot better, considering all the hype originally behind it when it was first show-cased. Even if you were to set aside the plot holes and lack of realism, the movie truly lacked originality borrowing especially from the movie "Die Hard". At least that is how I saw it.

No worries, there are haters everywhere! Hell, I can be one easily!

We rented it over the weekend, and surprisingly enough, I liked it.

I mostly ticked about the special effects that didn't look good, but I could have cared less about it being probable; its a movie and its supposed to entertain me; which it did!

There are movies that are unrealistic but still pulls you in and you forget you are watching a movie. In those cases, you don't notice (or don't want to notice) plot holes. This movie however was just bad and totally failed to do so for a majority of viewers. I can't put my finger on it exactly (other than a vast number of SEVERE plot holes & lack of character developmetn (poor writing mainly), gleeful killing of governement and civilians and poor choice of actors (director should take the blame for most of that..). The first Die Hard movie, I just loved it. It would have been interesting to see it for the first time now in 2013 at my current age/experience. I probably wouldn't think AS highly of it, but I suspect I would still find it far better than this movie..

People keep talking about SEVERE plot holes.... But the only one that is really discussed or brought up is the one regarding how the last code was known by the bad guys in the end. And I mean, fair enough, it is a fairly bad plot hole, but not that hard to look past. I'm honestly curious to know the other plot holes that everyone keeps noticing in this movie but not bringing up? That really sounds like I'm being a smart ass - but I literally expect, and would not be surprised, if somebody creates a massive list of plot holes in this movie. I really can't think of any (possibly as a result of actually trying to enjoy the movie... but who knows? Maybe I'm just really stupid.)

Unlike most people, I never REALLLLY forget I'm watching a movie... what does that even really mean? Like.. you'd have to be pretty retarded (apologies to any handicapped people reading this post in advance - I actually think you guys would be smarter than the people who forget they're watching a movie while sitting in front of a TV/movie screen). Like I think I kinda understand the concept... like people get so.... wait no, don't have it (once again, I'm probably just stupid). :(

I think people need to open up their imaginations a little when they chuck in a DVD. You know? Focus on the positives, let your brain disintegrate the negatives - it's what I do. Great action, great CGI, great acting (IMO: many may, and probably will, disagree with this point). I mean, maybe it makes all you so called intellectuals out there feel good picking apart movies that are awesome popcorn flicks (once again: in my opinion), maybe you think I'm a bit slow because I can let my brain enjoy movies with a couple flaws. But hey! At the end of the day who's the one enjoying the movies they're paying for? Who's the one who can get happiness day in and day out from a little screen? (well... big screen in my case ;) hehehe) That's right, me! So I've come to the conclusion from now on that people are stupid, and I'll let them hate all the great movies they want cause at the end of the day, most are probably miserable human beings :D.

WOW, I can hear the bitchy replies already! "HEY JUST CAUSE I HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION THAN YOU AND DON'T LIKE MOVIES THAT YOU ARE GREAT DOESN'T MAKE ME MISERABLE" etcetera etcetera etcetera. Save it, I am no longer going to read replies. Or maybe I will change my mind tomorrow and read replies, should they appear.

I enjoyed it for what it was. A good action movie. Lots of great action scenes, special effects, hand to hand combat, a cast of hundreds, a Bond-level bad guy, etc. People need to loosen up a bit. Does anyone really expect an airtight or a truly original plotline from an action movie?

Critics of movies like this are becoming just like the "professional critics" ... and I never waste my time reading their reviews anymore because I know what they will say. And this movie is actually a lot better than the other similar movie, "White House Down".

And by the way, the last Cerberus code was obtained by their computer decryption system. I mean they even said that in the movie, if anyone was paying attention. It's just that they could not crack all 3 codes, but their computers were able to get one of the codes.

reply

Hah! nice one! somebody figured it out, now all the "professional critics" out there have no plot holes to speak about.

I like it too.
Better yet than I thought I would, so Im rather happy about it.

Of course, bananas are far more interesting.

I liked it for wat it was, a fun, "dumb", R-rated filled with violence and f-bombs action movie. Movies like this one are a rarity these days filled with PG-13 movies (even Die Hard and Robocop are taking the PG-13 route). If I have to shut down my brain and enjoy an entertained action movie, I prefer to do it with a movie like this one instead of some PG-13 stuff filled with giant robots, "hip" characters and retarded one-liners.

i'm surprised the rating is so low on this.... admittedly, this isn't shakespeare, but i really liked it! like one of the other posters said, isn't this why we watch movies? for some escapism?
