Am I the only person that loved this movie?

Seriously, I thought it was great. Who cares if it's not realistic, who cares if it has a couple little plot holes here and there? It's an amazing movie with a tremendous use of visual effects. What's with people these days immediately hating a movie just because the movie portrays a sequence of events that are unlikely to happen? I swear you must all be a boring bunch of people. I see comments like "What a piece of *beep* that could never happen!" and I'm just like... that's the point. If people only filmed *beep* that's going to happen we wouldn't have half the great movies we have today.

I had an awesome argument prepared when I started this subject, but forgot it before I started typing :/. You get the point though.

I agree Timrohn I also loved this movie, plenty of action(which I love)..lol
It's only make believe people get so upset over movies don't they? They take them too seriously It's made for entertainment.

I liked it too.

It was mindless fun. So didn't worry too much about the plot or story.

White House Down is even more outrageous

reply

Outrageous in a good or bad way? I really want to see White House Down after seeing OHF!

reply

I can't say without spoiling it.

Definitely a "leave brain at the door" and enjoy movie

I loved this movie! Great action (edge of your seat suspense throughout), great acting and direction.
I wonder, all these people who have been denigrating it, where are their brains?
Obviously down the drain. This is FICTION, not a true story. Fiction as most movies are unless otherwise advirtized.
So wake up you nerds and see this for what it is.

On the other hand, if you people think this can never happen, think of 9/11!!
The worst ever terrorist act worldwide has happened in the U.S. So, how real was that?? Never forget 9/11 and just hope it will never happen again.

And to reply to you Tim, NO, YOU DEFINITELY ARE NOT THE ONLY P0ERSON WHO LIKED THIS MOVIE.

reply

I didn't expect to like it as much, but I did. Very well done except for too much CGI blood and a few dodgy VFX shots.

I liked the movie a lot! I rented at Red Box last night, and i have 6 hours to return it. I'm watching it again in a few minutes. You are right what you said about movies where this or that could never happen, but still fun to watch anyway. It's an action movie. It's a Hollywood movie. Tell me about MOST movies in the history of the world where things in it were far-fetched. You would never stop, because MOST movies have things in them that make people go, "WHAT??? Impossible!! That would never happen!!" SO what?? It's a movie! It's not real. It's the filmmaker's imagination. Just enjoy the movie and shut up! I will buy this movie on Blu Ray this friday!

I read all the bad reviews on IMDB, but I took a gamble on it and forked over 24 bucks for the Blu Ray. And, yes, I loved it. Best action movie since Taken.

I was a professional twice over: An analyst and a therapist. The world's first...

It's a very good and entertaining movie.
People take it too serious and moan too much.

If it were realistic:
1) there would be no movie because HOPEFULLY our defenses are too great to let this happen.
2) we'd be showing people exactly how to take us down...

So it didn't NEED to be 100% realistic. Just realistic enough to make a great movie, which is exactly what is it. I loved it!

If the 9/11 attacks were first portrayed in a film people would've cried:

"Bull crap! There's no way some Muslim radicals can take over four big 747's simultaneously, know how to fly them good enough to then crash them perfectly into their targets, like the famous World Trade Center and the Pentagon, while a plane full of passengers just sat there because they had box cutters and the armed forces of the strongest nation in the world were helpless to stop it!"

Yeah, that would've been a far-fetched and convoluted movie alright.

Wow, missed this post some how back in September - but that is such a good point! If you try to think back to before 9/11 there's no way anyone would have thought that to be possible (the way it happened). I Guess the events of OHF aren't as far fetched as people are making them out to be when put into that context.
