Better than The Dark Knight Rises

Yes! I love rises, but i fell that this sticks more authentically to the source material, particularly in its depictions of the joker. all in all an awesome to parter,that sits comfortably next to the live action cannon.

Just seen these films for the first time and they are undoubtedly much better than TDKR, which was a sprawling mess of a film and nowhere near as well made as Batman Begins or TDK.

It is NOT better

I believe it's a better film as well. The story is a bit more structured thanks to the graphic novel. The film suffered from plot holes. The actors for Nolans film to me aren't as good as TDKR. These characters were better. Plus the locations in the film ugh. The animation was top notch and an ode to the graphic novel.

As a huge fan of Burton AND Nolan's Batman films,I can honestly say, without a doubt in my mind, this is the greatest Batman film, animated or otherwise.

I'd say that, along with the Arkham video game series (particularly City), Batman Beyond and the original animated series, it's the best use of Batman outside of comics.

Definitely better. No contest though, really.

I would go as far as to say The Dark Knight Returns is the best Batman movie made to date.
