Am I the only one who thinks this is terrible?

Please no hate here, I just want to voice my opinion. Anyway, I think this is one of the worst horror films I've ever seen, especially considering the "buzz" around it. None of this film, in my opinion, was even remotely scary, just the occasional "Thrill". Here's the layout for me:

Amateur Night - I liked the build up, but the drunkenness was incredibly annoying. It also felt too much like "been there, done that" and was just a simple creature feature. Sadly, this is one of the better ones.

2nd Honeymoon - Somewhat tense with the masked assailant, but absolutely terrible in regards to the ending, and so much filler. This entire clip could've been less than 5 minutes, and the impact would not have been any different.

Glitchman - Abysmal. The story was terrible, completely contrived, the effects were awful, the acting was a joke, and the entire creature or strange entity made no sense whatsoever. Overall, the worst in a horrendous line-up of found footage.

Strange Thing That Happened To Emily - This one could have actually been great, and it almost was. The tension kept mounting up pretty successfully, yet once again, the film took no interest in explaining or further investigating the happenings of the "aliens". Overall, the best one out of the anthology, but still disappointing.

Tape 56 - Sloppily done, with a completely predictable ending that was just dumb.

Haunted House - Again, could've been pretty good, but the potential was squandered with run-of-the-mill material, YET AGAIN no sufficient explanation, and one of the worst endings in the whole bunch.

Overall, I found this movie to be atrocious. Believe me, I do not go into this expecting the Academy Award for best original screenplay, but Jesus this was poorly executed. No connections were made between the tapes, the stories were overall just flat out bad, and the resolutions to each tape were horrible. No definitive conclusion or insight into what exactly is going on. I don't want my horror films to be spoonfed to me, but I also don't want everything to be left in complete ambiguity. 4/10, and that's being generous.

Yesterday I tried to see what all the fuzz is about and put it on on Netflix. I made it to about 10 minutes - through the baaaaad prologue and then a couple of minutes into the first episode - then I had to switch it off, because I could tell that I was wasting my time. The camera work, the setup, the acting, everything. Terrible!

I happen to like quite a few found footage movies but this was unwatchable. I don't care if it gets better latter on, if a movie so utterly fails right off the bat I don't invest any more time in it.

it pretty much only looks like people liked it because Brad Miska,
head guy at bloody disgusting basically made the film, ensured it was rated up at BD and then the company mustve done some review planting as i went into this film giving it the same benefit of the doubt that his one sided reviews often dont give independent cinema.

Unfortunately i would say he should just stick to reviewing but hes pretty awful at that even, but movies, definitely not his forte. Used to be a big fan of the BD site but once he started shoving this down our throats as a cult hit i realized i had to give up on that site.

Anyways, the film itself is a bunch of reworked stories weve all already seen and probably enjoyed more the first few times seen. Nothing truly original in the film, terrible acting through alot of it, terrible writing not to mention awful quality. some tense moments and one of the stories had some pretty decent atmosphere but the film was a complete miss.

I dont reccommend it to people who ask whats a good horror film to watch. This is number 2 when you google best horrors to watch on halloween.

Must've paid good money for that placement. It's getting hard to find reliable and trusted reviews anymore.

No. you're not the only one. It bored the hell out of me and I fast-forwarded through most of it. I guess you REALLY have to be a fan of found footage, and like cheap looking movies to rate this one anything above a 2 out of 10.

It's not the worst film I've seen but it's by no means the best. I thought it plodded on for too long and so many characters were unlikable - the thugs in Tape 56 and the jocks in Amateur Night spring to mind.

It sounds like your expectations were a little too high and that you don't know how to watch a movie or anything else simply for entertainment value.

You must be a buzz kill to know.
