Am I the only one who thinks this is terrible?

Please no hate here, I just want to voice my opinion. Anyway, I think this is one of the worst horror films I've ever seen, especially considering the "buzz" around it. None of this film, in my opinion, was even remotely scary, just the occasional "Thrill". Here's the layout for me:

Amateur Night - I liked the build up, but the drunkenness was incredibly annoying. It also felt too much like "been there, done that" and was just a simple creature feature. Sadly, this is one of the better ones.

2nd Honeymoon - Somewhat tense with the masked assailant, but absolutely terrible in regards to the ending, and so much filler. This entire clip could've been less than 5 minutes, and the impact would not have been any different.

Glitchman - Abysmal. The story was terrible, completely contrived, the effects were awful, the acting was a joke, and the entire creature or strange entity made no sense whatsoever. Overall, the worst in a horrendous line-up of found footage.

Strange Thing That Happened To Emily - This one could have actually been great, and it almost was. The tension kept mounting up pretty successfully, yet once again, the film took no interest in explaining or further investigating the happenings of the "aliens". Overall, the best one out of the anthology, but still disappointing.

Tape 56 - Sloppily done, with a completely predictable ending that was just dumb.

Haunted House - Again, could've been pretty good, but the potential was squandered with run-of-the-mill material, YET AGAIN no sufficient explanation, and one of the worst endings in the whole bunch.

Overall, I found this movie to be atrocious. Believe me, I do not go into this expecting the Academy Award for best original screenplay, but Jesus this was poorly executed. No connections were made between the tapes, the stories were overall just flat out bad, and the resolutions to each tape were horrible. No definitive conclusion or insight into what exactly is going on. I don't want my horror films to be spoonfed to me, but I also don't want everything to be left in complete ambiguity. 4/10, and that's being generous.

well i thought this to be one of the best pov movies in recent times. Whats the matter with your taste buds?

WORST MOVIE EVER.

Dad’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home for a few days.

I hope not. If so, then the little faith in humankind I have left is gone!

The most proper word I can use for this movie is rubbish!

No you are not alone at all. I could take about 20 minutes of the movie before I had to stop watching, and I very rarely or never do that. It was horrible, boring and stupid. Unwatchable.

Sooo I gave V/H/S a second chance and saw the whole thing. I have never before experienced this before, but I went from hating it to loving it. Give it a second chance, you will be prepared for the "amature" nature of the movie, that actually makes sense and makes the movie more creepy. A very well made horror movie with something new to offer. I gave it 1 originally, but I give it 9 now.

Completely agree with your statement. I watched it hoping this would bring back my belief in horror movies but I was left yawning! The movie looks like a competition between 6 filmmakers that try to show who's the boss in producing fear and end up stabbing each other by the worst possible outcome. At points the atmosphere was heavy with tension but since it lacked plot lines from the beginning up to the end, it all fell into misery. This movie should have been executed a whole lot better.

I would have given it 2/10 and THAT would have been generous. No cohesion. Boring stories

I didn't think it was terrible but this was far from being a good movie and it got boring and slow in spots because it is found footage movie which means we're supposed to think it's all really happening. It could have been so much better had they taken time to flesh out each vignette better. Most of these made little sense. As usual with found footage movies, they have the protagonist carry the camera throughout the movie so the viewer can see everything though that makes the least sense in a real situation where you're being chased or attacked. But the one scene it did make sense was the Amateur Night where the guy wore the glasses equipped with a built-in hidden camera. I hope to see that idea come back in some future similar movies. Maybe a lapel camera too. Overall, very weak but not terrible. Great ideas but poor and half-assed screenplays.
