5.9 SERIOUSLY?

This movie is GARBAGE.

Seriously? 5.9 is exactly where it should be. That's a great score considering how much of a mess the movie was. I voted it like 4.

Because it's babby's first art house movie for most of the people.

Kiddies and plebs expected "Project X: Girls edition" and got something that was literally 2 deep 4 u.

IMO, it's b/c the film is a satire. The average movie-goer does not understand satire, and if you don't see the humor in it, and instead think it's supposed to be taken seriously, then you aren't going to enjoy it hence the low rating. Yes, the ending shooting is ridiculous. It's intended to be surreal. The director/writer isn't some idiot who wants us to think these girls are really shooting up all these people without ever reloading their guns or flinching.... it's supposed to be surreal, like a video game, like today's mentality of violence in entertainment. Hudgens' character even says to think of it like a video game.

But of course it's possible to understand the satire and still not like the movie, that's life. On to the next one.

Edit: And there's also the technical aspects of the film; the sequencing/chronology can be confusing to some. The way we see scenes from the future and then go back in time without knowing until we end up back at that original scene, and the repeating dialogue. People consider it messy or confusing but imo it's not. For me it's an interesting cinematic style, much like Gaspar Noe's Irreversible.

7 sounds about right

The film received generally positive reactions from critics. The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 65% approval rating with an average rating of 6.3/10 based on 164 reviews. The website's consensus reads, "Spring Breakers blends stinging social commentary with bikini cheesecake and a bravura James Franco performance."[37]

I gave it a sincere 10. Doesn't mean it's the best movie ever in history. But it made me come here and read the forum, and even place a comment of my own, which I very rarely do.
Harmony Korine is a genius. People hate him, people love him.
And nothing has to make perfect sense.
That's a true 10 1n my book.

Surprised that it could have possibly polled that high, guess that there were a lot of prepubescent boys voting initially after watching it with the mute button on.
But now that adults have had a chance to view it, and rate it, it is quite understandable that the rating has dropped quite considerably, and even then the rating is very generous to the film.
The film should settle at a rating around 4 which the producers will be very pleased with.
