5.9 SERIOUSLY?

Rating is about where it should be. The film is very stylish, but the actual narrative/plot is a mess at times.

Yeah, 5.9 is way to high. This movie is at 5.2 and I think deserves to be much lower. The only positive thing about this movie was James Franco's performance. The rest of the other cast were unlikable and the movie was pretentious overall.

Personally I think it should be an 8/10 movie.. compared to most teenage movies that come out, this one pretty much tops them all in terms of style, performance, depth and visuals...

It's now 5.4 and dropping as more people watch this crappy movie and expose it for what it is... pointless eye-candy, a film crew messing around with actors and a camera.

There is no "art" here. Just because it's "Harmony Korine" doesn't make it worth the art label. Movies should stand on their own without director's names or reputations.

Everything that people say gives this film value, is undermined by the fact that it contains all the cheap elements we've seen a million times before: Guns, drugs, sex, skin, abstract editing, saturated colors, gangsters, music, trashy street talk, nudity, people getting shot, girls in bikinis... etc..

give me a break, this is worthless and pointless. Someone got bored and picked up a camera and called up some actors, made some raw footage - but not enough for a decent movie, then put it together in post, then sold it. They are now laughing hard.
