Am I the only one that thinks this movie is insanley overrated.

It was terribly executed, it was god awful narrative wise as well. The soundtrack made my ears bleed and the characters actions made me want to tell at the screen. If this didn't have the Pixar name attached to it, it's score on IMDb would be much smaller. 3.5/10

I'm watching it right now and it's depressing. The only truly funny scene was the one between the parents that they showed in the trailer. I can't imagine a kid liking this movie but maybe one going through emotional upheaval might. The overall narrative bored me. I wanted to like it....

It's a mistake to expect an Animated movie to be funny all out. This movie conveys a great message and I'm glad it's for kids who can learn a thing which they usually don't from other movies. What time is better to learn such emotions than in the childhood? I completed enjoyed the experience this movie brought out and it deserves a solid 10.

Your mind makes it real.

Albeit, most of the humor is cheesy, and the events that get the plot started are just stupid and insane, but in the end it all works out to a brilliant and imaginative story with REAL themes and morals that WILL get people to cry. Only adults would really understand this film, though. It isn't really a kids movie. The soundtrack was great, idk how you could hate that, and what do you mean executed? Fear, Anger, and Disgust are so stupid, but joy and sadness counteract that with their characters. Joy is a complete dick to sadness, and that was really pissing me off. In the end, though, it made me weep like watching Toy Story 3 or Up, and was literally a life changer for me. The underlying themes that this film presents are incredible. I think it is just downright amazing that the people who made this movie came up with the idea. It is the 2nd best pixar movie, and will get even more impactful and historic in the years to come, but for now 9/10.

When's your next groundbreaking animated movie coming out?

Please let us know so we can all watch it and give it a good honest review, thanks!

"Overrated" and "underrated" are nonsensical terms as applied to a subjective art form like film. That said, since you're in the extreme minority, as evidenced by the 8.3 score on imdb, it would be more accurate to say you're insanely underrating it.

I give it a 6. It was alright and rather intriguing. The thing is, this was an 85 minute film (not counting the credits), but it sure did feel like a 2 hour film. I thought it was too slowly paced for its type.

I beg to differ. When films feel like they're shorter than their length they seem more fun and conveniently paced. Like Titanic and (the first) Lord of the Rings, for example. They're around 3 hours, albeit they feel like normal two hour films. Titanic even feels faster.

It was just the movie as a whole. Especially the scenes with Joy and Sadness roaming around that realm. They didn't "drag" the movie per se, but they made it feel longer?

It's called relativity. The more you're bored, the longest it seems to be. The more fun you have, faster the time goes by.

Watching "The Intern" in theaters for example felt like 4 hours to me because I was dying of boredom, while "The Good, the bad and the Ugly" always flies by despite being 3 hours long. It's all about perception. I'm sure many people feel the exact opposite of me.

Inside Out is perfectly paced. Everything makes sense, everything is connected, everything has a place. Perfect movie in my book, but I get why people would find it a bit "boring", because of its theme and its serious themes.

You actually make a point. I agree.

Though I do like serious themes and I actually thought that this film's concept was highly appealing. Maybe I didn't like how it was laid out? I can't put a finger on it.
