Am I the only one that thinks this movie is insanley overrated.

It was terribly executed, it was god awful narrative wise as well. The soundtrack made my ears bleed and the characters actions made me want to tell at the screen. If this didn't have the Pixar name attached to it, it's score on IMDb would be much smaller. 3.5/10

Yawn. See the other two recent threads on this.

If you're going to do this, there at least needs to be more details and genuine substance in your argument. As is, this simply amounts to "this movie sucks because I said so", no different than all other nonsense post that use that meaningless term overrated.

"If life is getting you down and needs uplifting, then please come dance with me!"

reply

That guy gave 'Cool Cat Saves the Kids' 10/10.

Just saying...

reply

I'm starting to think that there may be some joke campaign to get Cool Cat into the top 250. I have to admit, it's kind of tempting to join the fun.

"If life is getting you down and needs uplifting, then please come dance with me!"

reply

Yeah.. Because it is obviously the dankest and coolest movie of all time

reply

I'm pretty sure that's on purpose, satire is alive and well

reply

Nope saw it with bunch of kids ranging 6 to 13 and they all thought it was depressing .the fact the trailer was funny but the film lacked humour did it for me , chatting at work with the other dad's consensus was the same.

reply

At least it's not as overrated as Frozen is (or at least WAS!!!)

reply

We get it. You don't like Frozen. STFU about it already.

If you're happy and you know it, go sit in the corner and think about your life.

reply

You liked Frozen?

reply

Yes.

reply

Ok, I am sorry but I didnt..

reply

Fine, but you aren't blasting it with nearly every post, unlike the poster I actually replied to.

reply

Actually, Frozen makes my blood boil. But no worries ;)

reply

Maybe, but as I said, you aren't talking ablut how much you hate it constantly.

reply

But you never asked me so..

reply

And you didn't volunteer w/o a prompt, unlike idonno.

reply

It had plenty of humor, it was just wasn't a mile a minute.

The irony in this comment is remarkable. The point of the movie being that sadness is essential to human mental health.

It was just ok...I watched in a plane. Decent time passer, nothing more.

reply

I..also feel it's overrated. I LOVE Pixar films and maybe I just had high expectations because everyone talked this up so much...I didn't think it was terrible, just not as good as everyone said it was.

The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts.

reply

Exactly what I thought. Good movie, but there was just an overall something about it - I can't put my finger on it exactly - that kept it from being near the top. And because of all the hype and reviews on it, I was left slightly disappointed. Clever but not particularly funny or as moving as it was clearly trying to be. It was no Up. I'd say it was mid-level Pixar. I'd put Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Wall-E, Up, and probably a couple others above it.

reply

Completely agreed. Although I think 3.5 is too low. Maybe a 6/10 and definitely overrated. Clumsy, clunky script. Pixar is going downhill.

When it came down to it, the beautiful animation, great voice acting and sound track. After some more thinking I changed my rating to a 4. Hopefully, Pixar can try something new and not make pointless sequels/rip offs.

I watched Inside Out and Big Hero 6 back to back over the weekend. I went into both movies loaded up with all the hype from other people about how great they were and critically acclaimed and all that jazz. As the case with both films, the visuals were outstanding, I liked the soundtracks and the characters were okay, but neither story blew me away. 6/10 stars is what I would give both movies.

Toy Story 3 was the last Pixar/Disney Animated Film that was hyped to the moon and at the same time met my expectations.
