S06E03 - Beyond the Sea

It was ok, not the best. Quite predictable.
Kate Mara is not aging that well, to be honest.

Good episode overall. But bad ending and got boring in the middle. Could have been so much better with better script.

And "reality chip" was missing and it was annoying at times because of that.

1. Such valuable and expensive assets should have been under security. Government would not allow them to just live like that and be invaded by crazies. Specially after Joshs family was killed. Aarons would be under 24 hours protection immediately, no one would ask if he wants it.

2. There would be psychological tests upon sending 2 people for 6 yeas in space. They would see Josh having this murderous side in him, he would not get selected. And sending 2 grumpy, little talking men in small space? I think they would send two people with light and fun attitude.

3. No way Aaron could allow Josh to take his place without approval from earth. They would simply see it.

4. When Josh double was gone - NASA people would order for Aaron to share double with Josh so he would not go crazy from loneliness and boredom. And they would probably remove Aaron from that farm and put into their headquarters closer to them and so that family would not be confused.

5. Josh behaving very stupid with flirting with Aaarons wife. Not to mention stupid naked paintings. Of course it would end up in jealous triangle.

6. Even in the most logical way if they would stay on farm and no one at NASA knew - there should have been boundaries from the start. Once in Aarons double - Josh should jabe go to live on a barn in his own separate room basically. Not interacting that much with wife and do his own thing.

This sort of stuff. It was intolerable that there wasn't constant chatter from Earth with the two astronauts, lots of psycho. monitoring of David after his tragedy etc.. The whole image of two astronauts alone and without a whole team of supports in constant contact was absurd. Good performances and shock ending can't save this one from being in the bottom 10% of BM eps.

Honestly my first thought was it was going in direction with Josh getting angry and eventually tanking Aarons double to go on Revenge Mission and find those murderers. But they killed that thing revealing that they surrendered.

Disappointing like most of this season.

Kate Mara is about as ugly as her acting. Not sure how she got into Hollywood.

45m too long - I ffwd'd a lot of it - boring

Sadly, this is what I ended up doing too. I cannot stand watching pointless bickering over easily avoidable controversies. Not a very good episode.

reply

Boring and predictable. So much pontential in this episode and they went the super dramatic route.

reply

not really , I thought Cliff would be killed by David and then pretend that is an accident

reply

Spoiler.

Would have preferred if at the end Paul's character saw blood stains, followed them and found his family alive and realized that the blood was just red paint left by Harnett's character to give him a wake up call about not taking his family for granted.

reply

Agreed. Lot's of good opportunities for the ending. It was in bad taste and ruined an otherwise intriguing episode.
