The Theory of Everything (2014) vs The Imitation Game (2014)
which is better?
shareThe Imitation Game
shareboth are great movies, but will have to go with the imitation game...
shareEddie Redmayne beat out Benedict Cumberbatch for the Best Actor Oscar in their respective films as listed in the title of this thread. I haven't see Redmayne in "The Theory of Everything" but I do know he is one hell of an actor.
shareEddie Redmayne is the reason why I enjoy Jupiter Ascending as much as I do. He plays the villain like a man keeping control yet with derangment seeping out from behind that mask of discipline. And the voice he used made me think of the Perduellion from Summoner 2.
I also havent seen the theory of everything yet.
Imitation Game.
shareArt is subjective and can not be bested.
shareWell, maybe the question should be then "which one did you like more?"
Both are good films, but I liked The Imitation Game more. I have seen it several times already, but haven't felt similar urge to rewatch Theory of everything.
Story wise they are both excellent.
The sets on The Imitation Game really stood out.
I loved all the oak paneling and the dull fabric colors also added to the atmosphere.
I'm always partial to the depression and WWII stories.
Tie. Both good, well-made films, neither great.
