I think Patsey should have been played by a more attractive actress

I didnt really understand the casting decision of Patsey. The actress that played her looked like a boy and she was cast to be the object of lust by her master. But, it just was not believable. The actress should have been much more attractive.

I know it might be hard to make a slave look "hot or attractive" but I'm sure they could have found an actress that would have made it more believable. No slave master is going to want to bang his ugly slaves.

i think a good casting change would be for paula patton to play the rapee slave girl

Patsey looked like a 12 year old African boy.

If you look past her short hair, her face is beautiful. For me it's very much believable that the slave master couldn't help but be attracted to her... probably fucked with his head as to why he was...since she was black. Also I think her age had a part in his attraction to her as well. She was quite young and you can also see how he begins to latch on to the little girl in the scene where they're outside picking cotton and he picks up the little slave girl and says "let's go find you something sweet" probably getting ready to groom her, that is if he didn't just out right sexually assault her right then.
