The descent

Didn't find it to be very scary. It's certainly a great movie, but it feels much more like an action movie than a horror film.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like... My opinion, man

reply

Insidious
Rosemery's Baby
The Audition
And The Exorcist, of course, a classic.
Necronomicon (watched it as a child, scary as ****)

reply

Halloween
The Exorcist
Jaws

reply

Shutter - original Thai version and not the hollywood remake

reply

That's easy. The Exorcist.

Off the top of my head and in no particular order...

Event Horizon - saw it when I was like 13, scared the crap outta me

Identity - still love it!

Alien

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Mirrors - especially messed me up b/c I have those old closet doors that are solid mirror... ugh

Amittyville Horror (the original) although Ryan Reynolds was freaky in the new one too...

In Dreams

House on Haunted Hill

28 Days Later

The Cell

Stir of Echos

Legion (was creepy the first time)

The Reaping

What on earth have you done to poor Mr. Darcy?
Elizabeth Bennet: I have no idea.

The Woman in Black had its creepy moments for sure. I thought that Dead Silence was pretty scary and had a decent twist at the end. By far for me though, in recent history, would have to be Sinister. So many horror films are so generic now, and I actually liked Sinister's story line on top of the insanely terrifying Mr. Boogie.

Jaws
The Exorcist
Halloween (the original)
The Descent
The Omen (the original)

Just a few I can think of:

V/H/S
Rosemary's Baby
Sinister
Jacob's Ladder

These lists are a total bore to go through. How many times do I need to see The Exorcist? Yeah, it was scary in 4th grade. How can that seriously be scary to anyone still?

reply

Thank you for mentioning Jacob's Ladder, i thought i was the only one! I had nightmares for a week after watching that when i was young. I love Exorcist but yeah it stopped being scary to me years ago, besides that's a pretty unoriginal response, it's horror 101.
