Is it woke?

Another Christian movie?

reply

It's not woke at all. It's about a bunch of straight white dudes who like beer and steak.

reply

Like "Lonesome Dove"? I'm there.

reply

There were plenty of brothers who had children

reply

Is it woke? Only if you think choosing a transgender Pope is woke. In the film, Cardinal Benitez (Carlos Diehz) from Mexico is also voted by the conclave to be the next pope. He takes the name of Pope Innocent. "He" was born a woman, (for those of you who remember what a woman is) but was raised male and identifies as male.

Oh, Spoiler Alert.

reply

Pope Innocent is not transgender. He’s intersexual - he has sex organs of both genders.

And yes, the movie is woke.

reply

A movie about a transgender pope, or an intersexual pope, is most definitely woke. Thanks for the warning.

reply

You are most welcome. I prefer going to the movies and my like-minded friends just searched for something to go watch and there is nothing.

reply

Don't be a jerk to others.

reply

Of course, because I sit trembling for your approval.

reply

Why not?

The liberals pushing their DEI propaganda threaten and ruin lives all the time when someone doesn’t blindly support their agenda publicly.

reply

For those who are interested in getting it right.
Spoiler.
In the movie, Benitez was male at birth. No need to assign a sex. However, in his late 30s he had an appendectomy and it was discovered he had a uterus. So, external male genitalia and female internal organs. He decided against the hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) which was the reason for going to the Geneva clinic. It’s different however in the novel.

reply

He was born with a Cock he isn't trans. He's hermaphodite. I don't think that makes the film woke. I do wish this fact was brought to the Conclave before the final vote though. If everyone elses secret were leaked shouldn't he have stood up and say hey your eminant I was born with a cock but I just found out I have a uterus too. Only seems fair. John Lithgow's character is only person that I didn't want to win for throwing the African Cardinal under the bus for having a baby 30 years ago.

reply

Only at the end

reply

Yes, and that is too much and offensive. If I could work from there, I would relocate to Poland, the most Roman Catholic country in the EU, even more so than Italy.

reply

How about Ireland? You would find it much easier to work from, and if there's a more Catholic country I'll eat my rosary.

reply

Poland is more.

Ireland is also full of immigrants that have diluted the christian population. Poland not as much.

reply

Lot of Polish immigrants in Ireland.

reply

Certainly, and also many greeks, russians, africans, asians, and from not so religious countries as well...

reply

If anything, Ireland has gotten more Catholic thanks to Polish immigration.

Why would anyone care how "diluted" their religion is in a particular country anyway? Since when did faith require numbers?

reply

I'm replying to the original poster questioning the more catholic country, I don't see what's the argument.

reply

It "takes" woke to a new level. I don't think there is a word yet for how woke this is.

reply

I'm guessing that there's a lot of words for things that you don't have yet.

reply

100% woke and liberal wishful thinking.

reply

No. But your face is.

reply

Woke as in i know when a movie sucks
