Star Lord's father

So who do you reckon Peter Quill's dad is?
MY guesses

Yondu
Tony Stark
Open for more suggestions?

I'm only slightly familiar with the Marvel universe, but could Apocalypse be Quill's father?

No he can't, not in the films. Apocalypse's film rights belong to Fox, Marvel Studios can't use him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Agent Hill: ...Then aliens invaded New York and were beaten back, by among others, a giant green monster, a costumed hero from the 40's.... and a god.

Agent Ward: I don't think Thor is technically a god.

Hill: Well...you haven't been near his arms.

No, there is no chance of that happening because the Apocalypse character is owned by Fox.

Since he was able to hold the power gem I'm guessing he's a bit high on the power scale.

Neither of those two work. Yondu was hired to retrieve Peter and return him to his father, whom Yondu refers to as a jackass. And Tony Stark is completely human. We're told that Peter's father is something "ancient."

I was hoping it would be Adam Warlock. But apparently it's going to be Ego, the living planet. How that works, I have no idea.

How bout Odin?

Even if Gunn hadn't already revealed who Peter's father is (if you haven't been following the news for the past several months, it's Ego, the living planet).... Odin would not be a viable contender. Remember what was said at the end of this movie, that whoever/whatever Quill's father is, it's something ancient and unknown. Asgardians are a known race.

I like Loki for Peters father he fits all the criteria because he isn't Asgardian or Frost Giant anymore Odin changed him.

"Ego the Living Planet" a.k.a. Kurt Russel of course...

Here is Peter Quill's father. Whether the movies stick with the comic version is debatable.

There's nothing to debate. Gunn has already stated that his father is NOT the same as it is in the comics and has already revealed that his father is Ego the Living Planet
