So many people now know your ignorance, FunnelCaked. Delete your post before many more find out.

reply

He over does his, like the crocodile hunter.

reply

No he doesn't that's just how he speaks, lots of people talk like that. Not as many as there used to be, but people do speak that way.

The best part about these posts is the OP always runs and hides underneath a rock once he realizes how much of an idiot he is. There won't be any follow up here folks, move along.

For me, the best part is how many people on here feel the need to repost something that's been said over and over already. Yeah we get it, she's from Australia. Why don't people bother to read the thread before eagerly hitting the reply button? Especially when the answer is soooo obvious.

But yeah, what you say suggest that the OP is just looking to ruffle a few feathers.

reply

True, that might actually be more irritating than the OP. It is kind of amusing how they all say it like they were the first one though, I mean really..

The op is a republican !

Good old IMDB. Just as often, many here don't even bother reading past the statement or question in the thread title before over-reacting to something they don't even know the context of.

...then whoa, differences...

^Dis. All of dis.

I'm not hiding under any rock hollastar, I just didn't notice how much this blew up. Had no clue she was Australian, just thought it was her role. Maybe I do hate Australian's then. Because when she spoke it felt like my ears were going to bleed. As the great Charles Barkley would say, "Just Turrible."

reply

Ha, I knew that post would bring you out.

Well I think the american accent sounds real babyish and annoys the *beep* out of me but I dont think I would take the time to make a thread and debate over it. You must have a very boring life.

that's her real accent---jeez, what a ridiculous comment....

Sorry you don't like the accent mate, most the women I've met in the states seem to like it.

reply

i'm australian and i thought her accent was fake.. certainly no one speaks like that over here. my guess is she's been in the states too long and copped one of those horrible half half accents where it sounds like she's doing a bad impression of either

The character has also supposed to have been living in the US for some time.

You have no idea what you're talking about, bogan. I don't know what creek you're from but that's her natural Australian accent which is a very typical urban accent from the inner city and wealthier areas of Sydney or Melbourne. She was born in Balmain, Sydney (an exclusive suburb), so she's not going to sound like 'Kath & Kim'. Almost every girl I know speaks with that type of inflection. It was perfectly natural.

Thhe first movie I saw her in was Two Hands with Heath Ledger. It's an Australian movie from 1999 and she sounds the same as in Neighbours.

reply

As a Victorian (yeah, i know) i know plenty of people that speak like that. Not everybody lives in Ringwood, i know plenty of latte drinking, hipster commies that sound exactly like that. You need to spend some time away from Australia to realise how aggressive even our seemingly subtle accents are- after a year in Germany everyone felt like they were parodying Paul Hogan. A lot of Aussies get jarred when they hear their accent in American films.
Also, how do you not know Rose Byrne was Aussie, never Seen Two Hands? It's a classic.

"World needs bad men. We keep the other bad men from the door."

reply

I thought so too until I copied her lines. You dont realise how bad we sound until you hear it in a film.
