Apparently the numbers for these DC movies have been going down for some time but Time-Warner has bought huge numbers of tickets for these films to give stockholders the illusion they are doing much better than they are at the box office. These days the only viable ticket-buyers tend to be white male virgins aged 12-25.
I do agree that a majority on young movie going audiences should grow up and expose themselves to other content rather than just comic book films, however this actually looks like something that will take the genre into a more serious & mature approach rather than just being a typical fun superhero adventure. I'm excited for this regardless cause I love Batman but I have a feeling this is gonna be beyond the typical superhero fatigue.
"this actually looks like something that will take the genre into a more serious & mature approach rather than just being a typical fun superhero adventure." why do you say this?
Because the majority of comic book films we've gotten recently haven't really pushed themselves to become more grit and just basically kept a consistent tone of being fun & entertaining. That's definitely not a bad thing but it's nice to see a change once in a while and shy away from these typical tropes.
I wish they had gone all the way with an R rating. After Joker raked in a billion worldwide, it's hard to use the box office limitation as the reason to keep it PG-13.
An R rating would be fitting but at the same time not really necessary. Joker definitely needed to be R because its a character study that revolves around a man becoming a mad criminal psychopath. Batman is a superhero who's motto is to not kill anyone despite their cruelty so an R rating for Batman shouldnt be to necessary.
Absolutely no one cares about your opinions, your shit taste in movies, or your asinine quest to rid the world exciting, action packed, and entertaining movies it's never going to happen... there will always comic book fans myself included, I've supported every DC movie since Batman Begins, I saw them in the movies, bought merchandise, DVDs, and digital copies and will continue to do so and there is nothing you can do about it.
The only comic book movies that need to disappear are Marvel movies, they are full of nothing but shit just like you...well let me refraise that, shit actually has a purpose...it helps things grow, you and Marvel comics have no purpose. You are a cancer of society who thinks they speak for everyone and won't let people enjoy what they want without being judged, it's called free will and it's our God given right, so fuck off ass licker!
I think what Leopard is trying to say is DC and DCEU in particular have hardly made any decent movies since TDK trilogy, during this time however Marvel has come along and become a global power house, with hit movie after hit movie, its something that Leopard cant accept and makes leopard very jealous and a tendency to have fits of rage like the above, think andre cedeno aka movieworldexpress type melt downs. Let me put this to you all , Leopard rates TSS and bird of prey, checks notes, 10 out of 10 lol i mean wow.
Considering the hell Robert Pattison put the poor producer (and everyone else through) to make this film, I'd say it's gonna be "Mysterious Island" all over again. That movie had similar issues to this one, with a lot of problems working with the actors, miserable conditions for filming, and the film itself was a disaster when released in theaters.
Oh it was very ugly. People working on the project leaked that first, the film was delayed due to Covid, and they had trouble shooting it in England because of them closing their borders and having strict virus protocols for film-makers. So, the producer gave Robert Pattison time off to work out and bulk up for the role. He was given 6 months. What did Robert do? He sat around all those months, acting like a whiny bitch and snorting coke. He then got into a fight with the director and producer when they got angry with him for not bulking up later. Then, they gave him more time to work out and filmed some of the fight scenes with his two stunt doubles. They compared scenes they had made before the Covid issue of Robert playing the Bruce Wayne part, and the fight scenes of the stunt doubles in the batsuit. It looked very wrong. He looked short and scrawny compared to the two, slightly taller, burly guys they had chosen to be his stunt doubles for the fight scenes. It would look very bad if Bruce Wayne went from a scrawny little shit like Pattison to suddenly being taller and muscly the moment he put the batsuit on.
Then Robert had to go and boink the actress who played Catwoman. They were caught banging each other on top of the Batmobile prop car, several times. Then the actress got pregnant as a result, and was forced to go on maternity leave for part of filming.
The film has been a nightmare to make, and has gone way over budget. I'm amazed they didn't can the project after some of the shit Robert had pulled.
Entertaining for some, but nothing that anyone would claim as irrefutable truth.
A post on a site like this claimed that Selma Blair is lying about having MS to cover the effects of her recreational drug use. That should give you an idea.
This truth that she supposedly got from people "working on set" is actually all over the internet (thanks to some clown "Doomcock" whose leaks have been proven false in the past) -- but originated on 4chan of all places. It's an unsubstantiated rumor that just as many are calling bullshit born of hating Pattinson playing the precious Batman role.
Funny, considering I've never heard of that website before today, asshole. That's what YOU use for your info. I got mine from actual people working on set. But it's your word against mine, right?
