Covenant vs Romulus

I felt let down by the teen cast and the static xeno action in the movie plus the fast paced facehugger action who felt like annoying bats. Also I didn't think the gravity scene was that great because the cgi blood floating looked bad plus I never digged the focus on the acid blood too much.

I feel the Xenos were too slow and too static and weren't really scary because the pulse rifle shredded them into shreds in seconds.

I feel like while I didn't like covenant that much because of the spiritual engineer world stuff the Xeno cgi and overall production value seemed better. Also the more mature crew.

Covenant for me.

Romulus is better, but I like Covenant too. First half of Covenant is really good.

COVENANT...BUT NOT BY MUCH.

Covenant > Romulus

Romulus.

Covenant was more in the AvP class, where dumb people do dumb shit and the script was written by a hack.

Covenant is better.

Covenant.

Romulus is also a good movie. Had some great thrills & concepts. It is like a sophisticated version of Alien: Resurrection. I think if Covenant is not getting a sequel, then this is the only chance to take forward what Scott attempted to do. Now, since the Corbelan crew are carrying Black Goo on their route to Yvaga, a sequel can further explore what covenant did, with different variation of Aliens & Alien Lifecycle.

Covenant

Cov has always been an underappreciated film and with time was going to be reevaluated as the strong entry it is, with Romulus’ shortcomings on display that time has now come.

Cov is bursting with ideas and brilliant nightmare imagery, while maintaining a good dose of xeno action. Rom has none of that and introduces annoying teen characters and unwelcome woke messaging.

Covenant’s time has come.
