Starring two Englishman (Ian Holm and John Hurt), a "negro" (Yaphet Kotto), and two women (Sigourney Weaver and Veronica Cartwright), directed by an Englishman (Ridley Scott), inspired by a film by an Italian director (Mario Bava), with a creature designed by a Swiss (H.R. Giger) and an Italian (Carlo Rimbaldi), with a Nigerian actor inside the costume (Bolaji Badejo), and fimed in England (Pinewood and Shepperton Studios) by a Canadian cinematographer (Derek Vanlint). It used to be called an "international co-production" until we all turned into a bunch of whiny, entitled pussies offended by absolutely anything and everything.
So then the more accurate description would be it went from mostly white to non-white, which is also something that the public is getting sick of. Whites have been taking the L for far too long- time for you to get used to the idea that won't be happening anymore.
More whiny, self-important entitlement, right on cue. Who cares? It's sci-fii movie. Why would travel in outer space in some speculative future be a whites or male dominant enterprise? In the real world, which you appear not to belong to, the Chinese have been catching up with the West in space travel, and India will likely put it's hat more and more in the ring in the next 100 years as well. I mean I get women are weaker physically than men, but then again, women like Ripley and Lambert seemed to be doing OK. Plus, they had technology like the load lifter in Aliens to help offset that disadvantage to an extent. Also, weren't there black soldiers and an Hispanic female soldier in Aliens? If you want to see a relic, look in the mirror, sphincter face. Take the "L", you whining, pompous ass.
You are the whiney one, young also I suspect since a real man with experience knows that this sort of approach is good for nothing but outing the subject as a prisoner of their emotions. Whine if you want, but your efforts will get you nothing but more of the same. The changes in casting are not a myth, they're real, and we are not obligated to agree with them or keep out mouths shut about it.
You whine and hysterically react to seeing a few females and people with dark skij and then claim your not whining and being hysterical. Hilarious.
And, of course, you've not countered a single argument I've made. As for your link, stuff it. Say it in your own words here, because I ain't clicking on it.
Yeah it should be predominantly white Americans. I want my Japanese Godzilla films filled with Japs, I want my American films filled with Americans. A proportional smattering of diversity is fine but this is the usual woke overkill.
The cast are also too young and annoying.
Covenant already looks a lot better. There’s no Fassbender in this lineup of obnoxious kids.
Covenant set a fairly low standard so I'm somewhat hopeful it can be better than that. The look and sound of the characters in this don't exactly seem that appealing, but on the plus side at least it's been taken out of Ridley Scott's hands.
I actually like Covenant, Fassbender rocks and the aliens are appropriately hideous. Ridley’s trademark cold, nasty atmosphere is thick and overbearing, and it has the bleakest ending of any Alien film, even surpassing 3.
I’d much rather see Ridley's third and final prequel than this reboot with annoying kids.
In time Covenant will be appreciated, mark my words.
I hated Covenant. It pissed on the legacy of Alien more than Prometheus did and if you thought the characters were moronic and unlikeable in that, this one takes it to another level. The amount of stupid stuff these colonists do that lands them in trouble is ridiculous. Fassbender's performance is one of the few good things in the film.
To have a third film for Scott to try and further smear his excrement over the original's status, would be too much.
