Negative portrayal would require commentary. The trailer presented its case without commentary, so nothing was negative nor positive -- it was just there. It was the opposite of the GTA V debut trailer, which absolutely did have a negative spin on certain cultural aspects associated with California.

It didn't do anything but portray content in its trailer. The media glorifies the exact kind of content that was in the trailer. GTA didn't make any comments or display anything to make the content seem negative, and Rockstar already confirmed they won't be "punching down" at "marginalised groups":

Rockstar apparently doesn't think so, and neither does the establishment media. In fact, normal people should see something like Cardi B and the "WAP" thing as unhinged and a shamelessly bad thing, but that's not how she's portrayed in the media, and there are millions of people who seem to align with the media's view on her degeneracy, calling it "empowering":
