Absolutely HATED IT!!! Love to hear other opinions....

I agree. The movie was dull, boring and exceptionally inaccurate at portraying technological development in the near future. But the worst part about the movie was that awful voice the operating system had. It sounded like a Hebrew Snake with a sore throat.

oh :/ poor soul, you didnt get the message. wouldnt make any difference if Her was a real person, but this way you could much more relate to her, imagine her, get to know her...in fact watching the movie YOU were dating Samantha too. see the point of this movie is at the end. and i would recommend for every teenager to watch this to help to build their personality, help to deal with loosing somebody, help to learn about relationships.

I didn't see the donkey scene the must have cut it for viewing in my country.

I didn't hate the movie, though at first, and then looking back after the film, throughout the whole film, the depiction of the OS or AI seemed pedestrian, sophmoric, though probably just lacking in a full enough understanding of the subject matter.

To me this is "Man of older generation meets immature girl of younger generation. In the short term he is reinvigorated in life through sharing her view. She matures and grows beyond him, partially because she is of a younger generation that has matured and grown beyond his own generation. He eventually accepts this and starts a relationship with someone of his own generation. The End."

People wrestle with this movie due to the newer generation being depicted poorly by an AI, and the secondary plot of unsuccessfully trying to make an argument against the newer generations use of technology based on, what I see as, the older generation writer's perceived shortcomings of the newer generations relationship with the world that is foreign enough to him to only seem wrong.


That's my take on it.

Bored to death. I don't understand the hype..

I tried watching this, twice, on the premium channels... To keep from falling asleep and/or getting grossed out, I had to change the channel. If I ever find a copy of Electric Dreams http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087197 I'll be a happy guy...

Well, pretty much all humans during all time eras have been complete and utter retards, so why shouldn't we expect the same trend continue in the future? It is not the movie's fault humanity is the way it is. Good movie, bad monkey species.
