Does anyone that doesn't do drugs like this movie?

This is a legitimate question and not an attempt to trash John Dies at the End. Admittedly, I didn't like it. I also don't like the sensation of being high. I feel like it causes my brain not to work properly and, therefore, is a waste of my time.

That said, this movie, especially in the middle but really, throughout almost the whole thing, felt similar to being on drugs. The way things just sort of happen out of nowhere, the way a lot of elements didn't really make any kind of logical sense, and the way, when people were talking, it felt really difficult to follow what they were saying. It was also funny, weird, and allows the viewer to see the world in a completely different way.

A lot like being high.

So that's why I wonder if most of this flick's supporters are fans of recreational drug use.

I have never done any drugs, but I see a lot of movies that people watch while on drugs. Some appeal to me, some don't. This one is one of my faves.

Just so you know, I also have been to a rave without doing drugs, listened to Pink Floyd without doing drugs, even listened to countless hours of electronica, ambient and other trippy music without any drugs. Maybe I am just naturally high?

Never touched the stuff and I love the hell out of this movie all the same. I suppose a person could appreciate it more if they did, perhaps (and I suspect the fact that I never did any drugs is the reason I can't understand why so many people like This Is Spinal Tap). It's just a great concept and a brilliantly executed film. Surprised they never made a cheap sequel or spun off a TV series about it.

I think I know precisely what I mean when I say it's a shpadoinkle day!
