Does anyone that doesn't do drugs like this movie?

This is a legitimate question and not an attempt to trash John Dies at the End. Admittedly, I didn't like it. I also don't like the sensation of being high. I feel like it causes my brain not to work properly and, therefore, is a waste of my time.

That said, this movie, especially in the middle but really, throughout almost the whole thing, felt similar to being on drugs. The way things just sort of happen out of nowhere, the way a lot of elements didn't really make any kind of logical sense, and the way, when people were talking, it felt really difficult to follow what they were saying. It was also funny, weird, and allows the viewer to see the world in a completely different way.

A lot like being high.

So that's why I wonder if most of this flick's supporters are fans of recreational drug use.

Other than marijuana I don't do drugs except to try them. I tried acid twice this year and while it's trippy I don't think ANY drug produces hallucinations like in this movie unless you're just really weak-minded or something.

This may be weird but I actually think I prefer super trippy movies that feel like a drug trip when you're sober to actually tripping out and then watching a movie. NBC's "Hannibal" tripped me out, but I was also exhausted when I watched the three aired episodes but the weird visuals and surrealistic nature of the show combined with tiredness made me flashback to my acid trip, it was kind of cool...

Interesting points.

PS
I've heard Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas also tends to trigger acid flashbacks, if that's what you're looking for.

I don't use drugs, and I watched it twice. I liked it both times.
It doesn't feel like a drug trip to me. It feels more like the work of an author who is a keen observer with a skewed, unique view of the world.
