Many movies like this show everyone pulling together to survive.

This is human nature gone berserk!

No.

Sure, people loot and steal when natural disasters happen, but the level of insanity is dialled up to 11 in this movie. I'm not saying that no one has ever acted this crazily ... but it's certainly not the normal reaction.

Nobody mentioned that in the commentary, Lorenza was actually in a club during the 2010 earthquake in real life and said that's how it was (except the music didn't stop) and then Eli says a bit later when they're trying to flag down a ride for Ariel that "everyone was saying this is what it was like".
